JetBlue flight attendant dubbed ’employee of the decade’ for hilarious safety demo

A flight attendant for JetBlue named Peter Echevarria took viewers by storm as he conducted a hilariously animated safety demo caught on video that had everyone in stitches and proclaiming not only that he’s the employee of the decade but suggesting he should take the act to Broadway.

The video of the demonstration went viral on TikTok Thursday and was taken by user Joey MacNeer who captioned the video “Fly JetBlue also give this guy a raise.” It’s only a 20-second clip but it’s epic. The segment has already had over 1.2 million views, according to the New York Post. People can’t get enough of the attendant’s brief dance routine replete with incredible facial expressions and exaggerated movements to put on his safety vest.

MacNeer called flight attendant Echevarria “an overachieving man,” and said he brightened the trip from Newark, New Jersey to Tampa, Florida.

“He really needs to be the face of commercials for JetBlue honestly,” MacNeer told the New York Post in an interview on Friday.

Echevarria had incredibly wide eyes while he performed his fancy footwork. His grand finale was sliding into the attendant’s workstation, making his departure during the mention of the plane’s two emergency exits.

One woman can be heard laughing during the presentation but the comments were off the charts when the video went viral.

“How did people not laugh I’d be hollering,” one woman commented.

“Bro thinks he’s in a play in broadway,” another stated.

Someone else declared, “That’s a great employee who’s fed up with his job.”

A ton of people piled on with praise for the flight attendant.

“The one man show called ‘Airplane Safety,’ I hear it’s gonna be big,” an individual exclaimed, giving a Broadway name to the performance.

“JetBlue The Musical,” another commenter quipped.

“That’s the only way I’d be able to pay attention and remember the instructions,” another stated concerning the presentation.

“I normally don’t look at the flight attendants during this but I’d be in full attention if this was happening,” one commenter admitted.

“Give him a raise already!!” another person demanded.

“Employee of the decade,” one person said putting it perfectly.

Echevarria enjoyed the positive response and left a comment under MacNeer’s viral video of his short performance.

“It was a pleasure working your [flight] today. Hope to see you again on my next flight,” he said.

The flight attendant shared the video on his own TikTok page and commented on it saying, “Special shoutout to the incredible customer who posted this video. I promise l love my job.”

JetBlue has been besieged with problems over the last few years. Unfortunately, Echevarria’s talent may not be able to be viewed by as many New Yorkers now.

The airline has recently announced that it is cutting departures from New York City airports by 10% this summer according to the New York Post. The company blames the Federal Aviation Administration for not hiring enough air traffic controllers.
