Senate Dems roll out secret weapon Fetterman to push Biden to bypass Congress on debt ceiling

Nearly a dozen far-left Democrat Senators wrote a letter to President Joe Biden urging him to invoke the 14th Amendment to bypass Congress in order to raise the debt ceiling and they trotted out Sen. John Fetterman in his finest slob garb as their secret weapon.

With Biden currently negotiating with Republicans who are calling for sensible cuts in spending, the Democrats who were led by Comrade Bernie Sanders (D-VT) held a press conference and deployed the mentally misfiring Pennsylvania galoot who stuck out like a sore thumb in his white Carhartt hoodie among the other lawmakers who were wearing normal business attire.

Fetterman, who has never been the same since suffering a debilitating stroke last year, was amazingly able to stumble his way through reading a brief statement for the cameras, lending his man of the people cred to what would be a highly controversial move to circumvent Congress by using the archaic Civil War era provision, likely triggering a constitutional crisis and a certain court challenge.

“We’re here for one simple reason. President Biden needs to consider using the 14th Amendment if necessary. The entire GOP debt ceiling negotiation is a sad charade, and that’s exactly what’s wrong about — what’s wrong in Washington,” Fetterman said.

“We’re playing with the livelihoods of millions just so the GOP can just turn the screws against hungry Americans. This is the whole reason why the 14th Amendment exists. We need to be prepared to be using it again. Remember, say that again,” he said, appearing to repeat his instructions from the paper he was reading from, “we must be prepared to — in order to use it, and we cannot let reckless Republicans hold the economy as a hostage.”

“And an unelected Supreme Court Justice will try to blow up our economy,” he added, struggling to drag himself to the end and taking a shot at the nation’s highest court. “That’s on them if they have to… judge on that.”

Fetterman reiterated his talking points on Twitter.

Also speaking was Sanders, a dyed-in-the-wool communist whose influence has been a major part of the once-liberal party’s swing to the extreme left, and he urged Biden to enter into uncharted territory by invoking the 14th Amendment, a solution preferred by diehard leftists who are determined to not see the ill-gotten gains to implement their totalitarian climate change agenda clawed back if the president’s dickering with GOP Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy bears fruit.

“They have made it clear that they are prepared to hold our entire economy hostage unless the president gives in to all of their demands, and this is something we cannot accept,” Sanders said. “The president has the authority under the Constitution to make sure that we continue to pay our bills.”

Twitter weighed in on the group of left-wing misfits and their fashion-challenged frontman.

Democrats have based their argument for Biden to trump Republicans with the 14th Amendment, relying on the arguments of radical left-wing legal ideologues, one of whom is Harvard University professor emeritus Laurence Tribe, a left-wing zealot who in a New York Times op-ed last week argued that Biden not only had the authority, but a duty to invoke the 14th Amendment, which states “the validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.”

It’s the same amendment that Democrats and their allies have used to justify barring Trump from ever holding office again and also to call for booting conservative lawmakers out of Congress using a clause put into place in the aftermath of the Civil War, resuscitating it for the modern purpose of consolidating the party’s iron-fisted grip on political power by overriding the will of the voters.

Also signing onto the letter were Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Tina Smith (D-MN), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Ed Markey (D-MA), Peter Welch (D-VT), Jack Reed (D-RI), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)
