‘Payback’: Adam Schiff responds to GOP lawmaker’s resolution to EXPEL him from Congress

Rep. Ana Luna (R-Fla.) has set her sights on booting Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) from Congress, filing a resolution on Wednesday to have him expelled for pushing the patently false Russian collusion hoax to Americans that cost millions and politically persecuted former President Trump.

Schiff was the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee until Republicans regained control. He is potentially the biggest purveyor of lies and disinformation concerning Trump out there. The leftist congressman has doubled down on his outrageous claims since the Durham report came out which concluded the left’s investigation into the former president was baseless and built on false accusations.

“Adam Schiff lied to the American people. He used his position on House Intelligence to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars and abused the trust placed in him as Chairman. He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives,” Luna proclaimed in a press release on Wednesday. “The Durham Report makes clear that the Russian Collusion was a lie from day one and Schiff knowingly used his position in an attempt to divide our country.”

“Knowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham report coming out makes you unfit for office. Ethics should investigate,” Luna tweeted.

Republicans have been aggressively calling for lawmakers who pushed the lies about Trump to be held accountable following the release of the Durham report. It found that the FBI knew the claims against Trump concerning the Russians and the 2016 election were specious but ran with the accusations anyway in what many contend was a political witch hunt.

Schiff has repeatedly asserted that there is “clear evidence on the issue of collusion” between the Kremlin and Trump’s 2016 campaign. He has not changed his stance since the damning 300-page report came out.

“I don’t want to go into specifics, but I will say that there is evidence that is not circumstantial. But as I’ve said all along, there’s plenty of evidence of collusion,” he told “Meet The Press” in 2017 according to Fox News. Schiff has yet to produce any evidence of his claims.

“This was an investigation that started in a flawed manner, it was conducted in a flawed manner, and its conclusion is a flawed conclusion,” Schiff told MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell on Tuesday concerning the Durham report.

Schiff clapped back at Luna’s announcement in typical fashion by using the left’s deflective rallying cry that MAGA Republicans are persecuting them.

“A MAGA Republican Member of Congress just filed a motion to expel me from the U.S. House of Representatives. I stood up to Donald Trump and held extreme MAGA forces accountable,” Schiff tweeted Wednesday night. “Now they want payback. They’ll go after anyone who defends the rule of law.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy also considered removing Schiff from Congress as well as pursuing possible criminal charges against him following the release of the Durham Report.

“You had Adam Schiff, who was chairman of the Intel Committee, lying day after day to the American public that he had proof, that he knew the proof,” McCarthy charged. “Now we’re finding in the Durham Report his own staff are threatening witnesses. I mean, why is this individual still even in Congress? And why does he think he can even run for higher office after what he did?”

“Now, it’s time that people have consequences for their actions, and you’ve got to clean this up where this can never happen again. When you talk about the threat to democracy, this is exactly what we’re talking about,” he asserted.

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) is all for Schiff’s expulsion, “This is how it is done. Schiff is a complete disgrace to Congress and has no place in this great institution. I look forward voting to expel him without a second of hesitation.”

Under the Constitution, Schiff can’t be impeached, but he can indeed be expelled. The move requires a two-thirds vote to do so.
