‘It’s sick’: Racial bomb thrower Al Sharpton to give eulogy at Jordan Neely’s funeral

The Rev. Al Sharpton has never been one to let a tragedy go to waste when it has anything to do with opportunistic race-baiting, and the death of Jordan Neely is certainly no exception as he prepares to give the eulogy at the funeral of a mentally unstable man who died after being subdued by a Marine vet when he threatened subway passengers.

Sharpton has used the unfortunate death of Neely to once again grandstand while calling for the arrest of US Marine veteran Daniel Penny, 24. He is now being charged after leftist Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg predictably caved to pressure. Neely died after being held in a chokehold by Penny who was attempting to protect New Yorkers on a subway from a violent homeless man. In gratitude for that, he will now be charged with second-degree manslaughter.

Neely’s service will be held at Mount Neboh Baptist Church in Harlem on Friday and Sharpton is sure to make it a political circus.

“I have asked Rev. Sharpton to deliver the eulogy at Jordan’s funeral, at the request and direction of the Neely family. As we face sorrow, pain, and uncertainty in the wake of Jordan’s senseless killing, it is crucial that we come together in the spirit of healing, action, and perseverance,” Rev. Johnnie Melvin Green, Jr., Mount Neboh’s lead pastor, declared according to Fox News.

“I can think of no one better, no one more equipped to meet this moment with that grace and guidance than Rev. Sharpton,” the pastor unbelievably commented, praising the divisive, racial bomb thrower.

Neely’s death played out on May 1 at approximately 2:30 pm after he boarded an F train and started screaming and threatening passengers, according to a freelance journalist who documented and recorded the confrontation.

Penny grabbed Neely from behind, dragged him to the ground, and put him in a chokehold while two other men helped him subdue the former Michael Jackson impersonator. The 30-year-old vagrant would later lose consciousness and die.

Neely had a long history of mental illness and an even longer rap sheet that included 44 arrests. He had been arrested for vicious attacks against subway riders. In 2021, he punched a 67-year-old woman as she exited the Bowery station in the East Village in Lower Manhattan, according to court records.

Penny was arraigned on Friday on one count of second-degree manslaughter for fatally choking Neely, whom prosecutors say had been “making threats and scaring passengers.” If convicted, Penny faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The former Marine’s attorneys, Thomas Kenniff and Steven Kaiser launched a defense fund campaign on Tuesday via the Christian crowdfunding site GiveSendGo, raising $1,097,282 as of Saturday afternoon and surpassing $1.5 million as of Sunday morning, according to Fox News. As of this writing, more than $2.6 million has been raised.

Supporters for Penny lined up to donate led by Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and others such as podcaster Tim Pool, singer Kid Rock, and presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Kid Rock perfectly expressed his feelings in a comment left on the donation site, “Mr. Penny is a hero. Alvin Bragg is a POS. Kid Rock.”
