Dem Senator threatens ‘popular revolt’ if SCOTUS acts to protect Second Amendment rights

The media is quick to condemn anything that could be interpreted as dangerous “insurrectionist” rhetoric, that is unless the inciteful words spring from the lips of a Democrat and that is exactly what the veiled threat from a top leftist Senate lawmaker seemed to sound like, at least in the opinion of some.

Anti-gun fanatic Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) suggested that if the conservative majority on the Supreme Court acts to uphold the Second Amendment by rejecting an assault weapon ban demanded by President Joe Biden, there would be a “popular revolt,” an implication that should not be taken lightly from a member of a party that for years, has turned a blind eye to left-wing violence, particularly the race riots of the summer of 2020 when mobs of Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other criminals ransacked and burned cities from coast to coast.

Murphy appeared on Sunday’s edition of NBC flagship “Meet the Press” and during his discussion with host Chuck Todd, the topic turned to the new laws that Biden and Democrats are pushing that would unfairly punish law-abiding Americans for the actions of a relatively small number of mentally disturbed mass murderers.

After expressing optimism that the constant pressure could be moving the needle in terms of anti-Second Amendment legislation and that “our movement is in a position to win,” he turned to the nation’s highest court.

“If the Supreme Court eventually says that states or the Congress can’t pass universal background checks or can’t take these assault weapons off the streets, I think there’s going to be a popular revolt over that policy,” Murphy said, a suggestion that the mobs could once again be unleashed.

“A court that’s already pretty illegitimate is going to be in full crisis mode,” the senator added.

Todd, a dyed-in-the-wool Democratic Party hack, let Murphy get away with his blatant dog whistle regarding the high court’s legitimacy and that anything less than total capitulation to the gun grabbers could result in a violent response.

Murphy’s Senate colleagues have been in full assault mode against the Supreme Court conservatives, especially Justice Clarence Thomas who is at the center of a vicious smear campaign that is a continuation of the “high-tech lynching” that he was subjected to by then-Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Joe Biden during his confirmation hearings over three decades ago, and the demonization of the judges by Democrat lawmakers has put the safety of the justices and their families in peril, especially since the ruling to overturn abortion rights landmark Roe v. Wade last summer.

Twitter reacted to the senator’s sanctioning of an intensified campaign of intimidation against the conservative justices, the sole remaining federal government bulwark against leftist tyranny.

The constant escalation of their war on the SCOTUS is unprecedented in the intensity of the vitriol spewed by Democrats and last year, angry mobs menaced the justices in their own homes with one unhinged man who was egged on by politicians and the media making a cross-country journey on a mission to murder Justice Brett Kavanaugh – and possibly his wife and children – that only came up short when he lost his nerve after arriving at the Trump appointee’s Maryland residence.

In a recent interview, Justice Samuel Alito spoke of the required special protection, including the justice’s homes having to be guarded around the clock by U.S. marshalls and that he has to be “driven around in basically a tank.”

“We’re being bombarded with this,” Alito said of the constant smears that fuel those who are attacking the judges to say ‘Look how unpopular they are. Look how low their approval rating has sunk.’ Well, yeah, what do you expect when you’re—day in and day out, ‘They’re illegitimate. They’re engaging in all sorts of unethical conduct. They’re doing this, they’re doing that’?” the Wall Street Journal reported.

Alito added of the attacks, that it “undermines confidence in the government,” adding, “It’s one thing to say the court is wrong; it’s another thing to say it’s an illegitimate institution. You could say the same thing about Congress and the president. . . . When you say that they’re illegitimate, any of the three branches of government, you’re really striking at something that’s essential to self-government.”
