New poll: Majority of voters say Biden does not have ‘mental sharpness’ to be president, but Trump does

Voters are having a hard time choking down the bitter pill of President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign with him being guaranteed to represent his party in next year’s election after the DNC stacked the deck in favor of the geriatric career politician by reshuffling the primaries and refusing to allow debates, and a new poll shows that despite the rigged game, that it is rough sailing ahead for the octogenarian Democrat.

While the party’s power brokers may have been successful in tamping down on most of the grumbling over the deeply unpopular leader’s refusal to step aside to clear the way for new blood, there is no amount of spin that can obscure the very serious doubts over Biden’s ability to lead the country deep into his 80s, especially when he has already consistently shown serious cognitive lapses with a growing collection of mental misfires and embarrassing gaffes that many have attributed to senility.

According to the Washington Post-ABC News survey, a meager 32 percent of voters believe that Biden has the”mental sharpness” to effectively serve as president, considerably down from 40 percent in February and lagging far behind his rival in a potential rematch of 2020 with former President Donald J. Trump who 54 percent believe is mentally sharp enough to carry out the duties of the presidency.

A similar number of 33 percent responded that they believe that Biden is in good enough physical health for the rigors of office as opposed to 64 percent of Trump who despite being 76 years old shows no signs of being worn down by years of attacks and the ongoing persecution of Democrat prosecutors, including Attorney Merrick Garland’s special counsel Jack Smith who is reportedly getting ready to move in for the kill.

The poll shows that more respondents find Biden to be honest and trustworthy but his numbers are still underwater at 41 percent although he outperforms Trump who clocked in with 33 percent, a predictable number considering eight solid years of 24/7 propaganda and fake news that have accused him of practically being a Russian sleeper agent, a racist, a misogynist, mentally unwell and the leader of a coup d’etat to overthrow the U.S. government after he came up on the short end of the score in 2020, not to mention the Democrats’ two failed impeachments.

Biden’s mental misfires in his most recent interview, a sit-down with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle aren’t exactly a confidence builder when it comes to swaying voters who question his sharpness.

Despite Trump’s ongoing legal woes, more would still support him over Biden in a hypothetical 2024 matchup according to the poll with 44 percent backing the former POTUS versus 38 who are down with another four years of misery under the unlikeable authortarian Democrat. Another 18 percent were either undecided or gave a different answer according to the Washington Post.

As with all polls, the numbers are subject to change depending on circumstances, many of them currently unforeseeable with the election 18 months away and any number of potential crises having the potential to further erode Biden’s numbers, not to mention the very real possibility that the regime will remove Trump from the equation entirely by tossing him into jail.
