Trans insurrections storm Texas legislature to disrupt vote on child sex change surgery

Hundreds of LGBT extremists stormed the Texas Capitol in Austin on Tuesday to “protest” a bill that’d ban puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and sex-change operations for little children.

“It began with [the extremists], their families and advocates singing outside the House chamber. Hours later, it ended in altercations with law enforcement and scores of protesters being forced from the building after some chanted during legislative proceedings,” The Texas Tribune reported.

Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan reportedly initially warned that he’d have the House gallery cleared if the extremists continued interrupting the legislative proceedings and then “quickly followed through” after the disruptions continued.

“Rules matter in the TX House,” the speaker later tweeted.

After being cleared from the House gallery, the extremists moved to the rotunda, where they continued to “protest” so loudly that they were ordered to tone it down or leave.

It was while the extremists were in the rotunda that at least one of them was arrested for evidently disobeying orders.

“Several troopers physically restrained and handcuffed Adri Pérez, an organizing director with the Texas Freedom Network, in an altercation that lasted about 10 seconds,” according to the Tribune.

“They face misdemeanor charges of disrupting a meeting and resisting arrest as well as an unspecified second-degree felony, according to jail records. Some LGBTQ advocates called the charges bogus and discriminatory,” The Tribune reported.

Another extremist, meanwhile, was permanently banned from the Capitol for unrolling a massive banner from the rotunda.

“Earlier Tuesday, troopers also banned Sofia Sepulveda — a board member of the Transgender Education Network of Texas and staff member of Equality Texas — from entering the Capitol for a year after she unrolled a massive banner that read ‘Let trans kids grow up,’ from the second floor of the building’s rotunda. They also gave her a criminal trespass warning. DPS said she violated a law that prohibits visitors from attaching signs or banners to a part of the Capitol,” according to the Tribune.

Watch:

After the altercation in the rotunda, the extremists were pushed down to the first floor of the Capitol and then, soon after, pushed out of the building altogether.

Most local outlets have predictably taken the side of the extremists, with the Tribune, in particular, rushing to collect quotes from the extremists.

“I am a proud Texas resident, a Mexican-American, and a transgender woman, and I deserve to have my voice heard just like any other Texan invested in the policies shaping our lives,” Sepulveda said.

“It’s a real act of cowardice,” Landon Richie, a “transgender man” and policy associate with Transgender Education Network of Texas, said, referencing Phelan’s decision to boot the extremists from the gallery.

“They don’t want to face accountability for their actions. They don’t want to face the people that this legislation is going to harm,” Richie added.

Yet, it seems clear as day that the LGBT extremists were the ones who didn’t want to face accountability.

Hayden Sparks, a reporter for The Texan News, noted in a tweet that House rules make it very clear that disruptions aren’t acceptable in the gallery.

“In case of disturbance or disorderly conduct in the galleries or in the lobby, the speaker may order that these areas be cleared. No signs, placards, or other objects of similar nature shall be permitted in the rooms, lobby, gallery, and hall of the house,” the rules state.

And so Phelan did nothing wrong.

Plus, according to critics, the extremists are lucky that they weren’t ALL arrested.

As for the bill, its passage was delayed because of a technicality. However, it’s slated to eventually be passed.
