‘Not how white men fight’: More leaks attempting to smear Tucker Carlson trigger mixed responses

Since Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News, efforts to expose the man behind-the-scenes have intensified through leaks that included an alleged text message where the commentator was said to be rooting for a mob against an “Antifa kid…hoping they’d hit him harder, kill him.”

“It’s not how white men fight,” he allegedly wrote before explaining in the text that he stopped himself from feeling these emotions when he recognized that his own thoughts were becoming inappropriate, to say the least.

A steady stream of content purporting to be related to the cable news network’s reason for cutting Carlson continued Tuesday with a report from The New York Times. Therein, messages from the former primetime personality that had been collected as evidence for the recently settled defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems, were said to include a reaction to video of clashing protesters.

According to the Times, on Jan. 7, 2021, the day after the U.S. Capitol was breached, Carlson sent a message to one of his producers expressing his take on seeing a group of supporters of then-President Donald Trump clashing with Antifa.

“A couple of weeks ago, I was watching video of people fighting on the street in Washington. A group of Trump guys surrounded an Antifa kid and started pounding the living sh*t out of him,” the previously unreported text read. “It was three against one, at least. Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously. It’s not how white men fight. Yet suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they’d hit him harder, kill him.”

“I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it. Then somewhere deep in my brain, an alarm went off: this isn’t good for me,” Carlson noted. “I’m becoming something I don’t want to be.”

“The Antifa creep is a human being. Much as I despise what he says and does, much as I’m sure I’d hate him personally if I knew him, I shouldn’t gloat over his suffering. I should be bothered by it. I should remember that somewhere somebody probably loves this kid, and would be crushed if he was killed. If I don’t care about those things, if I reduce people to their politics, how am I better than he is?” he asked in conclusion.

YouTuber Keith Woods summed up the reaction of many as he wrote, “Consider that most of the text is him trying to humanise political enemies who have targeted his house & family for harassment, but a passing comment about a positive trait of white people makes this too radioactive for Fox.”

Indeed, that was included in the takeaway from the Times as the report stated, “The discovery of the message contributed to a chain of events that ultimately led to Mr. Carlson’s firing.” The report indicated that higher-ups at Fox News became aware of the message the Sunday before the defamation trial was scheduled to begin and as a settlement was in the works.

In addition to the message, videos that appear to show Carlson making comments off-air have been made public in an attempt to besmirch his character. Published by Media Matters, the host could be seen on the set of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” preparing for an interview with Piers Morgan.

During the exchange, Carlson is heard, “So let’s…if we’re going to talk about sex, I’d love to hit some of the fine points of technique, but, you know, but it’s your show. It’s totally up to you.”

“We can certainly talk about your sexual technique, especially after your tanning testicles last week,” Morgan fired back, referencing a Fox Nation special Carlson had done.

“Not mine! We’ll speak in more general terms, but I’ve got something to add,” the host said.

Later, Carlson commented of someone, “I thought his girlfriend was kind of yummy,” before immediately calling out Media Matters and exclaiming, “Just kidding! Just kidding, in case this is getting pulled off the bird. Yeah, the bird! Hey, Media Matters for America, go f*ck yourself!”

In yet another video from the set of “Tucker Carlson Today,” the host made a passing remark about viewer critiques of his look and said, “I can never assess my appearance. I wait for my postmenopausal fans to weigh in on that,” before issuing a callback to an infamous hot mic moment of Bill O’Reilly, “F*ck it, we’ll do it live!”

Carlson’s reputation has not appeared to suffer from the leaks that show him to be a flawed person with a sense of humor, and reactions poured in offering support for the man alongside their opposition to the corporate media monolith trying to tarnish his reputation.
