If you thought the American political scene was rowdy, let’s take a trip to Columbia where Mayor Martín Alfonso Mejía decided to take his “public service” to the next level.
At an unnamed nightclub in the municipality of Calima, Mejia decided to let loose during the Catholic country’s Holy Week. Videos captured him dancing on furniture at various levels of undress, including a clip of him with his bare butt out on display.

At one point he began gyrating his hips in front of a group of women. His shorts can be seen holding on for dear life as he does his best to wiggle them off. Only then does a good samaritan come and place their arm around his neck in what appears to be an attempt to stop the lewd display of Mejia’s “legislative body.”
While his impromptu display of transparency may have delighted club-goers, his fellow politicians were less than thrilled by his behavior.
“The responsibility that politicians have obliged us to show exemplary behavior in public,” said Colombia House of Representatives member Duvalier Sanchez Arango. “Concerning the inappropriate acts of Mayor Martín Mejía of Calima in Valle, we are calling for a disciplinary investigation by the Attorney General’s Office and the Green Party.”
For his part, Mejia is claiming that he was drugged while he was at the club. The owner of the venue vehemently denies the claim, and previous incidents with the mayor may prove that he is often wild while partying. Six months ago he allegedly stormed the stage while at a festival and loudly announced that he is “corrupt” according to the New York Post.
