Hecht: To defeat China, first defeat homegrown subversives

China’s rising belligerence, after Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen’s visit with Speaker Kevin McCarthy, has underlined that we must confront and defeat China’s efforts to dominate us. However, the first step is recognizing and defeating the enemies within.

We cannot focus on China while we suffer from polarization and weaponization of justice at home. We cannot strengthen our position abroad without stopping the State Department (DOS) from supporting our adversaries and attacking our allies.

The United States has been drifting towards socialism for a century. Donald Trump’s election to the presidency was a tipping point: it united pro-China factions against him and catalyzed our descent toward totalitarianism.

Trump had criticized our subsidizing of China and promised to create a level playing field as president. Until then, China’s policy had been bipartisan. With its vast wealth, China curried favor with prominent Americans of both parties in and out of government. US companies with large Chinese interests also lobbied to give advantages to the communist regime.

Trump split the Republican Party: America-first and China-first. The oligarchs joined Barack Obama’s socialist transformation of the United States to keep their China advantages.

Oligarch money, media, and power—together with Obama’s Marxist manipulators and their federal bureaucrat partners—undermined Trump’s presidency and denied him a second term. The above groups viewed Trump’s policies as an existential threat to their agendas.

This cabal allows the Biden regime to survive, despite its disastrous record, by constantly promoting regime propaganda and suppressing the truth. This includes public information, such as the Hunter Biden laptop, that shows Joe Biden is compromised by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Biden accepts the DOS permanent bureaucracy’s anti-American and criminal actions because they coincide with his, although he could not change them regardless. That bureaucracy carried on as usual under Trump, betraying him and the country.

While the Biden regime’s policies strengthen the CCP, DOS promotes China-allied regimes and undermines those that resist China. Brazil and Honduras—under Luiz Lula da Silva and Xiomara Castro, respectively—demonstrate the former; Guatemala demonstrates the latter.

Last year, the Brazilian Supreme Court, with eight Lula partisan justices of 11, let former President Lula out of jail on a technicality so he could run for president. Biden intervened on Lula’s behalf by sending US officials and impeding challenges to his electoral victory. Judicial corruption catapulted Lula to the presidency, yet DOS called the election a “model for the hemisphere.”

Lula has refused to sell Ukraine weapons and to condemn Russia’s invasion. Lula will meet with Xi Jinping in China on April 14 to, among other topics, plan an exit from the US dollar.

The arrival of Honduras’s new socialist president last year strengthened relations with the United States. Venezuelan narco-dictator Nicholas Maduro, with a $15 million US reward on him, celebrated Xiomara Castro’s win. One of her first acts was to recognize Maduro, and a giddy Vice President Kamala Harris said Castro’s election was “a mandate for positive change.”

On March 26, Honduras simultaneously ended relations with Taiwan, giving it 30 days to vacate its embassy, and established formal diplomatic relations with China.

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), whose draft Americas Act with Representative Maria Salazar (R-FL) would lessen dependence on China and increase US trade with Latin America, praised Guatemala for helping Taiwan in Honduras.

Taiwanese President Tsai visited Guatemala before beginning her US tour. Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei warmly praised her and asserted Guatemala’s strong friendship with Taiwan.

Guatemala has all the conditions to be a bulwark against China’s advance. However, DOS fiercely attacks Guatemala to hide the crimes it and its agents have committed attempting to impose criminal socialists on the Guatemalan judicial system.

DOS supports communists in Chile, Peru, Colombia, and elsewhere. In a love fest with Colombia’s former communist guerrilla and now president, Gustavo Petro, Blinken identified disequity as a root cause of violence. This is a tenet of Marxism.

Judicial Watch has “documented and detailed millions of US taxpayer dollars being spent [mostly by DOS] around the world to support the radical leftist goals of the George Soros ‘Open Society’ networks.’” Judicial Watch has reported on grants from Soros’s NGOs and DOS going to the same recipients in various countries in Europe and Latin America.

This is the same Soros who supports prosecutors in many US states and cities who do not prosecute street crime but persecute political enemies. The most egregious example is Alvin Bragg in New York City now attempting to weaponize the judiciary against Trump.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul landed in Taiwan on April 5. McCaul, who strongly supports Taiwan and understands the CCP, said “I think China, long term, is the greatest national security threat.”

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is aggressively investigating, publicizing, and criticizing the Biden regime’s weaponization of justice. It is critical for Americans to correct course to assure liberty at home, which is indispensable to confronting our enemies abroad.

Just as critical is exposing State Department criminality and its betrayal of America and its values around the world. For Speaker McCarthy and Chairman McCaul to prevail in their stand with Taiwan and against China, the congressmen must prioritize investigating DOS as they are the Justice Department.
