Jesse Watters’ instincts kick in as he learns of Trump indictment: ‘People better be careful’

Fox News host Jesse Watters was notably shocked on “The Five” as the news broke of former President Trump being indicted on Thursday, advising leftists that the move is likely to galvanize Republicans and cause them to rally around him, warning “people better be careful.”

Watters said that he feels sorry for Trump because he didn’t have to run for president. He had a good life before trying to help the country. For his efforts, the left has savaged him and tried to destroy him.

Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has not revealed the exact charges yet. He is taking an old charge over allegedly paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels that was previously dropped, which was a misdemeanor at best, and is attempting to morph it into something much worse. The statute of limitations ran out on the charge long ago but that has not stopped Bragg in his witch hunt to persecute and prosecute Trump. Critics contend it is a weak case that will assuredly be struck down eventually.

In the meantime, the left will surely use the brazen, calculated political move for the next two years to try and discredit Trump as he runs for the presidency.

The news broke during the airing of “The Five.” All the hosts were outraged but Watters was especially incensed by it.

“It’s the stupidest thing I have ever seen,” Watters asserted. “And I feel bad for the guy. He didn’t even really have to be president. He had a lot of money. He had a great life. And he decided to run. He won, he got in. They took him down, and now they’re trying to nickel-and-dime him for a private agreement he made with a woman, what, eight years ago? It has nothing to do with politics. Wasn’t paid through campaign funds. This is a disgrace.”

He went on to point out that the left will fingerprint him and use his mugshot as propaganda endlessly. The left will forever falsely brand him as a criminal.

“And then they’ll plaster that mugshot all over the country for the next two years and run against a criminal,” Watters pointed out. “And that’s what this is all about. No one wanted this, not even the left wanted this.”

Watters alluded to the possibility of violence over the left turning the rule of law on its head for political purposes.

“[T]here’s gonna be a major rally-around-the-flag feeling,” he warned. “I’m starting to feel it right now. I’m angry about it. I don’t like it. The country’s not gonna stand for it. And people better be careful. And that’s all I’ll say about that.”

I don’t think the left understands what they’re getting themselves into,” Watters also remarked. “This country is already teetering. You have people who feel rightfully persecuted just for being conservatives … this was a very controversial election, this was a very controversial president, there have been a lot of bogus charges that have been flying around recently.”

On Watters’ show, he stated, “For the first time in American history, a former president’s been indicted. This day will go down as a dark day for America. President Trump’s been indicted by New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg for a private civil settlement he made with a woman seven years ago. Bragg’s star witnesses Michael Cohen, a convicted felon and disbarred lawyer, and Stormy Daniels, a porn actress who begged for hush money and worked with Michael Avenatti, another convicted felon who just so happened to get women to falsely accuse Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.”

“So where’s the crime? A lawyer settled a civil case with the woman? How many civil cases has Bill Clinton settled with women? How many civil cases have members of Congress settled with women? We were told by the Democrats in the media that your private life is your private life, everything was consensual. Now all of a sudden, consensual is a felony. And they’re literally prosecuting the former president over sex, sex which Donald Trump denies. He claims he was extorted. The left has been saying they want to get the government out of the bedroom. They just kicked down the bedroom door,” he continued.

“This is a calculated move. Do you think Donald Trump would be indicted if he wasn’t running? Trump’s poll numbers were looking good, and now Democrats will have the most famous photo of all time in their arsenal: Trump’s mugshot. It’ll be plastered on billboards, T-shirts, campaign ads, everywhere you look for the next two years. Mugshot will be front page, every newspaper lead story, every network, every cable show. Democrats are branding Trump as a criminal, along with the 74 million people who voted for him. They think the mugshot will scare you. They’re wrong,” Watters concluded.

In response to the indictment, Trump declared on Truth Social, “EVERYBODY KNOWS I’M 100% INNOCENT, INCLUDING BRAGG, BUT HE DOESN’T CARE. HE IS JUST CARRYING OUT THE PLANS OF THE RADICAL LEFT LUNATICS. OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED, AS THEY TELL US TO BE PEACEFUL!”
