Trump grand jury reportedly shuts down for a MONTH as Bragg’s case takes another hit

In what could be more bad news for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s efforts to bring an indictment against former President Donald J. Trump, the New York City grand jury has reportedly once again called off deliberations, this time for an entire month as the vindictive Democrat prosecutor’s case looks to be languishing in legal limbo.

On the day after it was reported that the grand jury had canceled its sessions on both Wednesday and Thursday for the second week in a row,  the news broke that there will now be an extended break in what has the appearance of being a major blow to the George Soros-backed DA who less than two weeks ago, was on the brink of criminally charging and possibly ordering the arrest of the 2024 Republican Party frontrunner.

According to Politico which first broke the story, the grand jury “isn’t expected to hear evidence in the case for the next month largely due to a previously scheduled hiatus, according to a person familiar with the proceedings,” with the break pushing any indictment of the ex-POTUS ” until late April at the earliest, although it is possible that the grand jury’s schedule could change,” the outlet reported.

While it is unclear why the case seems to have unexpectedly stalled, some may suggest that the prosecution’s star witness, disgraced former Trump lawyer and convicted felon Michael Cohen who is the pivotal figure in the alleged “hush money” payment to porn queen Stormy Daniels has become so discredited that Bragg is running a risk of committing career suicide if he puts him on the stand, which according to constitutional law expert Alan Dershowitz, could result in the district attorney being disbarred.

“He has proved that the main witness is gonna be a perjuring liar on the witness stand, and that puts the district attorney in a terrible position,” the former Harvard law professor told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo. “If he uses Cohen as a witness, he could actually lose his bar license. It’s unethical to put a witness on the stand who you know is lying and he has to know that Cohen will be lying.”

A hero of left-wing media who is regularly showered with love by Trump-hating talking heads, Cohen had the rug yanked from underneath him by his former legal adviser Robert Costello who testified as a witness to the grand jury early last week.

“There can be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Michael Cohen has great difficulty telling the truth,” he said. “He is, after all a convicted perjurer, and our track record with Mr. Cohen convinced us that he was a serial liar.”

Prior to the news that the grand jury will be taking the next month off, Costello appeared on Newsmax TV on Monday’s edition of “Greg Kelly Reports” where he suggested to anchor Greg Kelly that his testimony on the veracity of Cohen may have effectively jammed a wheel into the spokes of Bragg’s witch hunt and that the shady ex-attorney is now virtually radioactive but that by doing so, the DA and his prosecutors may have been forced to shift the goalposts.

“Do you think you got through to them?” Kelly asked

“Well, I think I got through to them, because today I understand they called back another witness by the name of David Pecker, who used to run the National Enquirer, and what they’re investigating now is he bought a story involving the McDougal lady, and then never published the story,” Costello responded, referring to former Playboy model Karen McDougal who, like Daniels, claimed that she had an affair with Trump.

“So, apparently, Mr. Pecker admitted with the federal authorities when he got a non-prosecution agreement that he should have filed with the Federal Election Commission, the FEC,” he continued. “But that doesn’t mean that Donald Trump should have filed something. The only way that Mr. Pecker would involve Donald Trump is if Donald Trump repaid that money, and I haven’t heard any allegation that he did.”

“So the fact that they had him in here once before and then brought him back after I dealt with Michael Cohen tells me – and, of course, I don’t understand this, I don’t know this for a fact, but this is my speculation – that they’re moving away from Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels and trying to focus their investigation on the National Enquirer’s purchasing the story of Miss McDougal and then not publishing it.”

Whether or not Bragg and his legal hit squad are planning to pull the bait and switch remains to be seen but Team Trump reacted to the news that the case now appears to be stuck in the mud.

“The case is going nowhere and Bragg knows it,” an unnamed source close to Trump told the Daily Mail on Wednesday.
