Trent Lehrkamp, 19, has been hospitalized in an intensive care unit for more than a week after a brutal hazing by a number of boys who taped him to a chair, forced him to guzzle vodka, fed him magic mushrooms, and after he passed out, urinated and defecated on him, sending out photos of the abuse online.

“They poured acid (in his) throat, peed on him. They forced a whole handle of Tito’s (vodka) down him. When he got to the hospital he had a blood intoxication level of 4.7,” Lehrkamp’s best friend Michael Sullins said on Monday, according to 11Alive.
Lehrkamp was placed on a ventilator after the tortuous hazing but is in stable condition now, according to the Daily Mail. He was left on life support after his breathing slowed to just six breaths a minute. He has since recovered enough to speak with investigators.
The incident took place at a spring break house party on Saint Simon’s Island last Tuesday. Several of the boys who took part in the hazing are said to be from prominent local families, according to Fox News.
Police are conducting an investigation into whether a picture that is circulating on social media was taken during the hazing. It appears to have been taken on Snapchat and shows the Glynn Academy High School graduate sitting in a chair, unconscious. He’s covered in spray paint and a number of boys are standing behind him, flipping off the camera.

A community Facebook account called “Glynn County Citizens on Patrol” posted a clip of Lehrkamp in a separate hazing incident, where his head is bowed and he is being sprayed with a hose.
“The Glynn Academy students on St. Simons Island are about to make national news,” says the caption above the photos. “These fine young men bound an unconscious and unresponsive boy to a chair, spray painted him from head to toe, pissed on him, took a sh*t on his lap and the list goes on and on,” the account charged, referring to the incident on Tuesday.
The account went on to state that the boys “dropped him off at the ER. They gave their names and left.”
The county police have not confirmed any details of the hazing event but they did verify that a group of kids dropped off Lehrkamp at a local hospital early Wednesday and then left before the police got there.

“Officers did not see any signs of physical injury on the individual but did note the presence of spray paint,” the police stated in a press release.
Lehrkamp was treated “due to a high level of intoxication, from a mixture of controlled substances and alcohol.”
The hazing reportedly took place in an affluent area of coastal Georgia. The police have already gathered evidence from where the party took place.
A GoFundMe for Lehrkamp, which has so far raised more than $73,000, states, “Trent wouldn’t know until it was too late that these were not friends, but vile and abusive perpetrators who would go on to torture, humiliate, and assault him in inhumane, terrifying ways for hours. He was dropped off in front of the ER doors. He was deemed inconclusive to life; only passing six breaths per minute. Since that evening, Trent has been on a ventilator in the ICU, battling fevers and a lung infection.”

“I’m sharing this to help support Trent’s family and the medical bills that will likely cripple them as a result of the tragic events that happened to Trent,” the organizer, Erika Keller, wrote on the page. “I’m also sharing this to help bring awareness to the situation, as it has now been five days and still little has been done to bring justice for Trent and his family.”
Rumors spread online that Lehrkamp was autistic but the GoFundMe page contests that, “As the story continues to travel, we want to make sure all of the information you are receiving is factual. Please know that Trent has never received a medical diagnosis of Autism.”
