Chinese pastor who fled persecution warns America is ‘descending into a very dark reality’ under leftist leadership

Pastor Bob Fu and his wife fled China after they landed themselves in a Beijing prison for daring to work in the nation’s underground Christian church movement.

After reaching America, Fu founded ChinaAid, a nonprofit watchdog group whose mission is to “bring international attention to China’s gross human rights violations and to promote religious freedom and rule of law in China.” But in the wake of COVID-19 lockdowns and the weaponization of the Justice Department against conservative Christians in the States, Fu says he’s seeing “striking similarities” between the way liberal U.S. leaders govern and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“I observed striking similarities during this COVID dictatorship time between China and, of course, even the United States of America,” Fu told “Fox & Friends First” on Thursday. “I find we are really, in America, descending into a very dark reality that somehow these mayors and governors all of a sudden became little emperors.”

Fu called out the mainstream media, warning that it has become a “propaganda” tool for the “leftist agenda.”

“The media has become an ideological tool to do propaganda with one side of the extreme leftist agenda,” he stated. “That is very worrisome to me.”

“We cannot really make our exceptionalist constitutional democracy into this communist style of governance,” he added. “That worries me the most.”

The pastor pointed to clips of the Chinese government cracking down on Christian churchgoers.

“Every day, many of my friends are arrested and serving five years, seven years, nine years imprisonment for simply preaching the gospel and organizing peaceful worship service every Sunday,” he said.

“Now, all of a sudden, we cannot tolerate the worship,” he continued. “If you are in defiance of a little emperor mayor or governor’s ordinance, who order you how and when, where to worship — this is certainly the most worrisome thing. I feel that America is, unfortunately — including Canada and other European countries — are coming to this point of active discrimination and perhaps persecution on the door.”

The move in the United States toward “total control” of the church, Fu said, is intentional, and liberal leaders, such as California Governor Gavin Newsom, understand the repercussions of such policies.

“I actually not only feel they understand, they are adopting similar or same tactics  — same playbook — from the Chinese communists,” he explained. “I feel, in that way, the communist party [is] successfully penetrating or exporting these tactics.”

“This is all matter of total control,” he continued. “It is a matter of power over the church, and those mayors or governors, such as in California, I mean, they just want to be the lord over the church and over the people of faith, in the name of the Covid.”

“I think that is the key,” he said, “that the American Christians should be prepared for the kind of persecution the Chinese Christians, Saudi Arabian Christians, or North Korean Christians may have been facing. We need to be prepared.”

Americans need to “push back,” Fu stated, and “really honor the Lord as Christ and the only Lord over the church, and not any political party, not any political figure, not any political ideology can drive ours. We need to stand firm on the rock of our faith in Christ.”

“Otherwise,” he warned, “if we are accommodating, if we are yielding our faith even a little bit, then politicians, those other forces, will want to replace that.”

“Then our faith will be compromised,” Fu said, “and I think we’ll have a horrible time, not only for ours but for our children and our next generation.”

Lest you think it is only churchgoers American leaders are trying to silence, think again.

The U.S. government has awarded 500+ contracts/grants related to “misinformation” and “disinformation” since 2020, American Wire News noted.

The Orwellian goal, it would appear, is to encourage businesses to repurpose their own artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technology — currently used to track competitors and discussions about their products — for government use.”

“The DOD and other federal agencies are now paying for-profit public relations and communications firms to convert their technology into tools for the government to monitor speech on the internet,” according to journalist Margot Cleveland.

“The technology under development will ‘mine’ large portions of the internet and identify conversations deemed indicative of an emerging harmful narrative, to allow the government to track those ‘threats’ and adopt countermeasures before the messages go viral,” Cleveland explained.

And then there is TikTok, a Chinese-owned social media app that is wildly popular among younger demographics.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have voiced concerns that the app poses a national security threat and argue that it pushes CCP propaganda on America’s youth.

Some “progressive” Democrats, however, are dismissing the concerns, including far-left Rep. Jamaal Bowman, who, on Wednesday, led a press conference with 30 TikTok creators.

“I just realized something. Republicans ain’t got no swag — that’s why they want to ban TikTok,” Bowman claimed. “Republicans ain’t got no swag. That’s the problem. And I mention that in the context of engaging young people in the democratic process.”
