President Biden further solidified the liberal bona fides of rocker Bruce Springsteen and actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Tuesday during the 2021 National Humanities Medal and National Medal of Arts ceremony at the White House, and true to form the president made a creepy joke about women’s hair.
Biden was rambling on about there being two types of awards being granted when he said, “I want to warn you: There are two types. There — the medals are beautiful. The ribbons are hung on. One doesn’t separate. So, any woman who I’m giving the one medal to, just don’t get angry with me if I mess up your hair. Okay?”
“You think I’m kidding. I’m not, all right,” he added.
The 80-year-old president also dropped a hint or two about running for reelection.
(Why wouldn’t he want to run? This has to be the sweetest gig he has had in his half-century in public office, with the corporate media not only running interference for him but all but keeping him afloat as he spends countless weekends at his Delaware beach home. And lord knows, they will campaign for him AGAIN in 2024, should he be the Democratic nominee.)

“Bruce, some people are just born to run, man,” Biden said as he honored Springsteen with the National Medal of Arts award — Barack Obama gifted the iconic rocker and close pal a Presidential Medal of Freedom award.
Biden made a second reference t running while noting that author Colson Whitehead was one of the first and only novelists to win the Pulitzer Prize for back-to-back works.
“How in the hell did you do that? That’s — where is he? Pretty good, man,” the president said. “I’m kind of looking for back-to-back myself. But I may have to do it in ‘The Underground Railroad’ with the ‘Nickel Boys.’ Incredible, man. That’s pretty damn impressive.”

He also praised Louis-Dreyfus, of “Veep” and “Seinfeld” fame — the actress gave him an enthusiastic hug.
“She embraces life’s absurdity with absolute wit, and handles real-life turns with absolute grace. A mom, a cancer survivor, a pioneer for women in comedy, she is an American original,” Biden said,
Songstress Gladys Knight, actress Mindy Kaling and designer Vera Wang were among the 12 National Medals of Arts award recipients and the 11 National Humanities Medal recipients.
