An Iraqi-born Miss Universe contestant who worked for the U.S. Army intends to root out the “crazy far left and woke voices” in her party by directly taking on the Squad.

“I may have been born in Iraq, but my soul is American.”

Monday, Sarah Idan joined “Fox & Friends First” to discuss her plans to run for Congress as a Democrat and where she believes others on her side of the aisle have gone astray. The 33-year-old Muslim, Los Angeles resident who began working for the U.S. Army at 18 as a translator in Iraq didn’t hold back her disdain for radicals in the House like Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-N.Y.)

“Let me be perfectly clear, I do stand for old-fashioned, classic, liberal values, but when I see people like Ilhan Omar, like AOC and the Squad and how they’re trying to pull our party to the far left, I have to say something,” she explained.

“They are very loud…and they get a lot of attention from the media, but I do believe there are a lot of Democrats who don’t agree with them and we do love this country and want to make it better,” Idan offered.

The former Miss Universe contestant who represented Iraq in 2017 after gaining her dual citizenship in the U.S. in 2017 also spoke with the New York Post recently and remarked, “We need fresh people in office to take out the communists, pushing crazy policies.”

Though she hasn’t yet filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, she made clear her intentions to root out “crazy far left and woke voices.”

“I may have been born in Iraq, but my soul is American,” she told the outlet.

As she sees it, the aims of the left have strayed from the real issues facing Americans. Idan told Fox News, “The current problems we have whether it’s inflation or the high crimes, these are the things that we need to be focusing on right now.”

In the past, she took heat for appearing beside Miss Universe Israel contestant Adar Gandelsman which included death threats, but has remained unapologetic in her support of Israel and has repeatedly called out Omar for her antisemitism.

“Omar does not represent me as a Muslim, does not represent millions of Muslims in the middle in the Middle East,” she said in 2019. “You know like in Arab countries we call her the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“They are extremist Muslims, Sunni Muslims, who are now working together with Iran against all the Arab countries. They’re working now with Hezbollah, with Turkey, with all that,” Idan continued. “You know, the thing is about this organization they are extremist Muslims, they’re Jihadis, and they have this ideology that they want to control the world.”

On Fox News, she made certain to call out the stark difference that her upbringing provided when compared to the privilege of most progressives.

“They did not have the hardships that we had, you know, being immigrant, coming from Iraq, living under dictatorship, having absolutely no voice, no rights, and I can’t even voice my concerns,” she said.

“I came here, I’m treated as an equal to every person that I meet on the street. I have a voice. I have a platform. I can say anything I want without the fear of being killed or executed,” Idan detailed proudly. “There are a million reasons to be a proud American and sadly, I think a lot of people, they take it for granted.”
