Trump renews call to protest potential arrest amid report Manhattan DA’s office ‘in chaos’

Confronting him with the potential of indictment and arrest, former President Donald Trump’s accusers were reportedly “in chaos” Saturday while the GOP figure re-upped his call for supporters to speak out, “WE JUST CAN’T ALLOW THIS ANYMORE.”

Late Friday, the story of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s (D) likely forthcoming indictment of the president, over charges related to an alleged hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels linked to an alleged affair, broke. In response, Trump issued a statement early Saturday encouraging supporters to “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

Hours later, as the histrionics spread throughout corporate media and accusations were leveled that the president had told his base to “take up arms,” another statement was issued on Truth Social asserting that the protests were not meant solely about him, but were about the direction the nation was heading in.

“IT’S TIME!!! WE ARE A NATION IN STEEP DECLINE, BEING LED INTO WORLD WAR III BY A CROOKED POLITICIAN WHO DOESN’T EVEN KNOW HE’S ALIVE,” Trump began, “BUT WHO IS SURROUNDED BY EVIL & SINISTER PEOPLE WHO, BASED ON THEIR ACTIONS ON DEFUNDING THE POLICE, DESTROYING OUR MILITARY, OPEN BORDERS, NO VOTER I.D., INFLATIONS, RAISING TAXES, & MUCH MORE, CAN ONLY HATE OUR NOW FAILING USA. WE JUST CAN’T ALLOW THIS ANYMORE. THEY’RE KILLING OUR NATION AS WE SIT BACK & WATCH. WE MUST SAVE AMERICA!PROTEST, PROTEST, PROTEST!!!”

The post was preceded by him sharing a screen grab of a tweet from former Newsmax host and NYPD officer John Cardillo who contended that, behind the scenes, Bragg’s team was not in full support of his actions that had all the makings of the bogus Russian collusion charges brought against Trump.

“NYC law enforcement sources telling me that the Manhattan DA’s office is ‘in chaos.’ They’re telling me about 60% of the office wants no part of this and wishes Bragg and [Assistant DA Meg] Reiss would just stop the nonsense,” Cardillo wrote. “They all know there is no crime. Apparently all being driven by a small group of radicals at the top. Very similar to RussiaGate.”

Meanwhile, Bragg himself was said to have issued an internal email to his employees, later obtained by Politico, that seemed determined to depict them as targets of physical violence despite the glaring lack of such rhetoric from Trump.

The email read in part, “Please know that your safety is our top priority. We have full confidence in our outstanding security staff and investigators, along with our great [Office of Court Administration] and NYPD colleagues, and will continue to coordinate with all of them.”

“We do not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York. Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office will be fully investigated and that the proper safeguards are in place so all 1,600 of us have a secure work environment,” Bragg continued.

The Manhattan DA is expected to face scrutiny as well after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy reacted to Trump’s potential indictment with his own call on “relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions.”

As reported, McCarthy had specifically referred to Bragg’s potential arrest of the former president as “an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he purses political vengeance against President Trump.”
