Dan Bongino on rumor of Trump’s imminent arrest: ‘The police state’s here!’

Reactions poured in after former President Donald J. Trump called for supporters to turn out in protest of the latest travesty of the Democratic party’s weaponization of the legal system against its political enemies, this time an unprecedented arrest of the 2024 frontrunner, a move that Fox News host Dan Bongino said is proof of the police state that is now ascendant in America.

The former Secret Service agent turned conservative commentator appeared on “Fox & Friends Saturday” where he discussed the Democrats’ flagrant abuse of power, the grotesque spectacle of a former United States president possibly being cuffed and perp-walked on national television as well as the potential for a vicious crackdown on those who would heed Trump’s call to take to the streets to engage in their constitutionally protected right to peacefully protest.

After Trump’s Saturday morning dispatch from his Truth Social platform that he would be arrested this week on trumped-up charges over a 2016 “hush money” payment to smut queen Stormy Daniels and his call for supporters to “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!,” Bongino unleashed a fiery take on the current state of affairs in a country that no longer resembles the “shining city on a hill,” that President Ronald Reagan once referred to the USA as, but rather a corrupt, despotic third world hellhole in which enemies of the ruling regime are routinely imprisoned.

“The police state’s here guys,” Bongino began, “So that’s inarguable, to you know the libs listening, you know, you can again, plant a big wet one on my rump because I really have no desire to hear you right now as you’re celebrating again, the collapse of the Constitutional republic, the police state’s here.”

“This is the kind of story you’re used to reading out of North Korea, but it’s here in the United States right now,” he said.

“Again, if you’re a lefty at home and you know you’re wetting your diaper over what I’m saying and saying, Oh my gosh, this isn’t true, if you think about it, what’s the hallmark of a police state versus a legitimate constitutional republic?” Bongino asked. “Well in a constitutional republic, you have rights and those rights can only be taken away if there is evidence of a crime, probable cause you’ve committed a crime. So what happens? Someone walks into an FBI office or a police station and says, ‘Hey, I was mugged,’ and the police investigate that crime, right? In search of the mugger who did it?”

“That’s not the country we live in anymore,” he continued. “We now live in a country where you can walk into the FBI or Alvin Bragg’s office and say, hey, I’m a Democrat, I don’t like Donald Trump, and you investigate the person and then you find the crime later. Wasn’t it was it Beria who said that? The Soviet Union. Kind of sounds like what’s happening here,” referring to Lavrentiy Beria, the notorious head of murderous communist dictator Joseph Stalin’s oppressive police state apparatus who once famously remarked, ” show me the man and I’ll find you the crime” in the old USSR which by all appearances, is the model for the society envisioned by today’s Democrats.

“To the people in New York City and any other maniac lunatic blue state out there. California, Illinois, Maryland. Listen to me, please. I grew up in New York and ran for office in Maryland and all these states,” he later added. “Well, I’d get out as soon as you can. I am not kidding. You have zero rights in these places. They’re talking about escape taxes for you and everything else.

“If this can happen to a former president, you have absolutely zero rights. No serious person thinks this is a crime worth expending taxpayer dollars on. Not a single person on planet earth believes that, who’s serious. Get out of these states as soon as you can. You have no chance in front of one of their juries. You have no chance in front of one of their judges. You have no chance with their prosecutors. Get out. You are effectively living in a place where when they want you, they will come and get you,” Bongino said.

Bongino also cautioned potential protesters of the treatment that they can expect to receive if they aren’t extremely careful.

“Donald Trump said to protest, and yes, do it, by all means, you have the right to do that,” he implored Trump supporters. “To everyone out there, please do it peacefully. I mean, this is not some silly, stupid virtue signal. This government is looking for any excuse, any excuse to take you and your *ss and park it in a jail cell forever.”
