‘I used to think Bannon was smart & evil’: Musk fires back at ‘War Room’ host who called him a ‘complete phony’

Steve Bannon is many things, but one thing he is not is a fan of Elon Musk, a fact that he drove home in comments about the billionaire Twitter owner who fired back with a zinger on the social media platform.

Musk observed that he was wrong about Bannon being “smart” in response to the “War Room” host and ardent Trump supporter calling him a “complete phony” who takes his orders from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“I used to think Bannon was smart & evil,” Musk tweeted, “but now I realize I was wrong about the first part.”

The jab came after Bannon’s insult Friday when he joined Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz on Tim Pool’s podcast and discussed the Tesla CEO.

The accusation came in response to a question about Musk’s recent claim that he is “open to the idea” of taking over Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), which collapsed under the hefty weight of President Biden’s supposedly fabulous economy in what Fox News’s Tucker Carlson called “a 1929-style bank run.”

In closing its doors, SVB became the second-largest bank failure in American history.

Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan suggested that “Twitter should buy SVB and become a digital bank.”

“I’m open to the idea,” Musk replied.

According to Bannon, that’s not a good idea.

“He’s owned by the Chinese Communist Party,” Bannon stated. “What are you talking about?”

“Tesla,” he explained, “the only thing of real value is Tesla. He uses it for margin loans. He sells the stock. The Shanghai joint venture is a hundred percent controlled by the CCP. This is why he never goes after the CCP. This is why he always backs off. This is when they had the protest, they had the protest about the lockdowns of Covid. He will not do it.”

“Elon Musk is a total and complete phony,” Bannon insisted. “He is in bed and his business partner–he’s done some good stuff… It’s fine. But, he is owned lock, stock, and barrel by the Chinese Communist Party, and he acts like it.”

As BizPac Review reported, the CCP-run newspaper Global Times recently checked Musk for pushing the theory that COVID-19 escaped from a Wuhan lab.

“Elon Musk, are you breaking the pot of China?” the outlet asked, essentially warning the billionaire against “biting the hand that feeds” him.

The not-so-subtle scolding from the Chinese Communist Party served to bolster Bannon’s argument.

“They wanted him to take down the tweets he did the first time,” he said. “Now, he didn’t take them down, but you notice he didn’t have any more up there after that.”

Following the podcast, Gaetz asked his followers for their “thoughts” on Bannon’s assessment and soon learned that the one-time Trump strategist’s opinion doesn’t jive with those of many conservatives who see Musk’s purchase of Twitter and subsequent release of the “Twitter Files” as vindication and a hard-won victory for free speech.

“I disagree,” replied Code of Vets, an organization dedicated to helping America’s struggling veterans. “He purchased Twitter for $44B to fight for Freedom Of Speech. He exposed our government, politicians and big tech collusion.”

“Elon is a lot of things but a communist is not one,” commentator Dom Lucre told Gaetz. “He fighting so many secret wars that most couldn’t comprehend but I know you know that Matt, I hope Steve will one day.”

“Oh please,” sighed the wildly popular Catturd in a dismissive reply.
