GOP Rep says Biden dragging feet on COVID origins declassification because it will ‘force them to act’

Touting the unanimous vote from the House of Representatives to declassify intelligence reports on the origin of COVID, Rep. Kat Cammack suggested there’s one likely reason President Joe Biden will continue “dragging his feet” before acting on the bill.

Friday, a House roll call vote ended 419-0 on a measure that would require the Director of National Intelligence to declassify and make public “as much information as possible” about COVID’s origins, specifically seeking all known information about the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s connections.

Introduced by Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and passed in the Senate before seven Republican and nine Democratic representatives abstained from voting, the bill now awaits Biden’s signature.

Joining “Fox & Friends Weekend” Saturday morning, Cammack, who sits on the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, spoke with cohosts Rachel Campos-Duffy and Pete Hegseth on what she believes had Biden hesitating to act on something the normally divided Congress seemed in full support of.

“I think that the writing is on the wall for the Biden administration. When you have Republicans and Democrats unanimously voting to declassify these intel reports, that’s pretty telling,” she began. “And when you think about his reasons for dragging his feet, maybe it has to do with the fact that it really would force them to act. They would have to take action on China. They would have to take action on all of the funding sources for the WHO for NIH, CDC, FDA.”

Fresh off of Thursday’s subcommittee hearing where journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger testified about the “Twitter Files” that exposed how Big Tech had worked with the government to suppress and censor reporting on stories that didn’t support the prevailing narrative like the lab leak theory, Cammack argued about the damage the truth poses to the administration that allegedly worked so diligently to keep American citizens in the dark.

“It would open Pandora’s box and really expose the deep-rooted collusion between the Biden administration and all of the social media companies that had to work overtime to cover up all of the dissenting opinions on the issue of COVID,” the congresswoman said. “This really is the worst thing that could happen for the Biden administration because it flies in the face of the narrative that they’ve been pushing for years. And I would say follow the money.”

An example of that would be in examining the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the poster boy for the government’s COVID response and corporate media’s favorite ambassador for The Science™, Dr. Anthony Fauci who, as previously reported, had shored up his personal net worth with an increase of $5 million between Jan. 1, 2019, and Dec. 31, 2021, going from $7.6 million to $12.6 million despite having a salary of that went from $414,000 to $480,000 in that time span.

It remains to be seen how Biden will respond and, as the legislation specifies, the DNI would have 90 days from the bill’s enactment to respond to declassify requested information. What could be made public remains a mystery and Hegseth contended, “Let’s hope when they release it, it’s not so heavily redacted that you see nothing from it which is something they could attempt to do.”
