The idea that government and institutions should force the previously obscure concept of “equity” upon Americans may be a top priority of the Biden regime but even avowed socialists like Bernie Sanders seem to believe that it’s pure malarkey.
On the latest edition of HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher,” the Vermont senator was put on the spot by the host over the two dramatically different ideas of equality and equity, grudgingly acknowledging that manipulating any process in order to guarantee outcomes isn’t preferable to him.
“I think this word ‘equity’ has come into the language in the last few years and before that, we didn’t hear it a lot. And I think a lot of people hear ‘equity’ and they hear ‘equality’ like it’s the same word, but it’s not the same word and the same concept,” Maher said. “So how would you differentiate between equity and equality?”
“Well equality, we talk about – uh, I don’t know what the answer to that is,” Sanders began, appearing to experience a brief moment of confusion before he continued.
On Friday, Senator Bernie Sanders told Bill Maher that he believes in “equality of opportunity” not “equity of outcomes”
Doesn’t that kind of destroy Sanders’ whole political philosophy?

“Equality is equality of opportunity,” the twice-failed Democratic party presidential candidate said. “We live in a society, we want all people, no matter what the color of your skin is –”
“Equity, I think, is more of a guarantee of outcome, is it not?” Maher followed up.
“Yeah, I think so,” agreed Bernie.
“Which side do you come down on?” Maher inquired.
“Equality,” Sanders responded, hardly an answer that would please the “woke” cultural revolutionaries, many of whom worship him with cult-like devotion.

Reactions to Sanders’ rejection of the political left’s unshakable new dogma poured in.
“Bernie Sanders said last night with @billmaher that he favors equality over equity. He will now be burned at the Democrat stake. But good for him. He’s right,” tweeted “Outkick” founder and nationally syndicated radio host Clay Travis.

“Even Bernie Sanders, America’s most famous socialist, says that he favors ‘equality’ over ‘equity’. It wasn’t particularly clear if he truly understood the question, though,” said Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) “I guess the DEI training didn’t really do the job!”

“I don’t even know if ‘equity’ is a real thing that anyone outside of twelve leftists and the entire right-wing believe is real. The overwhelming majority of progressives agree with @BernieSanders (and me) that equality of opportunity is the right standard,” tweeted combustible “Young Turks” host Cenk Uygur.

Other reactions to Sanders’ unexpected remarks.
Amazing. The Biden administration is committed to "equity" in everything, i.e. absolute equality of outcomes across all demographic groups – and even Bernie Sanders disagrees. https://t.co/oPcHa7ZdZH

Now we learn not even Bernie Sanders is on board with the Biden/Susan Rice equality of outcome (read: equity) agenda. And he's a communist whose honeymoon destination of choice in 1988 was the Soviet Union. Bernie only supports equality of opportunity.
So where does that put… https://t.co/dcWL1tgBec

It's amazing to see how quickly Bernie Sanders falls apart when he's forced away from his teleprompter and forced to answer even mildly challenging questions.
Good on you @billmaher! https://t.co/mMlmLX0Fq5

So Bernie Sanders was asked the difference between equality and equity and he said he didn’t know. I’ll bet he knows how much equity he has in his assets .

I just watched Bernie Sanders be unable to define the difference between equality vs. equity, and without knowing the difference, said he supported equality over equity. On Bill Maher. WTF.

It’s common for the two academic terms to be confused but Fox News’ “new king of late-night comedy” Greg Gutfeld broke it down perfectly.
On Monday’s edition of “The Five,” the crew discussed Comrade Bernie’s appearance with Maher and when it was Gutfeld’s term, he described how equity is more comparable to another term, invoking the dreaded F-word to describe the rigging of outcomes.
“The confusion is intentional,” Gutfeld said. “They want to replace the word equality with equity, but equality, everybody has the opportunity from below to excel, so the starting blocks are the same. Equity requires that everyone finish the same which means, there has to be force from above to keep everybody down, which is absolute fascism.”

“This isn’t a subtle distinction, it’s like the most distinction in the world,” he continued. “The only way to unite people is equality. The only way to divide people: equity.”
“That is why you see equity being favored by people in power, because it keeps us divided!” Gutfeld said.
