New details coming to light in suicide death of billionaire financier Thomas H. Lee

New details have started to emerge about the alleged suicide of billionaire financier Thomas H. Lee, a friend of the Clintons.

As previously reported, Lee was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound early Thursday morning at his Manhattan office.

“Cops responded to a 911 call at 767 Fifth Avenue — where Thomas H. Lee Capital, LLC is located on the sixth floor — at around 11:10 a.m. … EMTs pronounced the 78-year-old businessman dead at the scene,” the New York Post reported.

This, unfortunately, was all that was known about his death until Friday morning, when the Post dropped a new report with further information.

It turns out that Lee’s absence had prompted his female assistant to go looking for him shortly after 11 am. She reportedly found him on the floor of the bathroom of his family office with a gunshot wound to his head and a Smith & Wesson revolver next to his body.

“The revolver found at his side was registered and licensed to Lee in New York City. … The pistol’s license was in the office at the time,” according to the Post.

When first responders arrived, they performed “life-saving efforts” but were unsuccessful. Lee was subsequently pronounced dead at 11:26 am, shocking those who knew him.

“I was in contact with him Wednesday — there was no indication [of strife], and I knew him for 20-23 years,” an anonymous associate who’d lived at Lee’s Sutton Place apartment building in Manhattan told the Post.

“I’m as shocked as anybody. He was an extraordinary person: successful, has a lovely family, and they’re all pretty damn good kids growing up, and they’re well-educated. You know, if you picked somebody [to commit suicide], I would have never picked him. He was very positive, very friendly, very nice guy,” the associate added.

Another associate, this one with ties to Lee’s business, added, “It’s interesting that he [killed himself] at his firm. It looks like a big ‘f–k you’ to his partners.”

That being said, local authorities have yet to establish a “motive” for the suicide, as Lee left no suicide note.

However, sources told Fox News’ Charles Gasparino that Lee had recently made a bad trade and that it’d left him “depressed and looking disheveled” —  though this is reportedly “unconfirmed and possibly unrelated.”

And then there’s the Clinton element.

As previously reported, Lee was good friends with the Clintons — so much so that they stayed at his home in June of 2008 after Hillary Clinton’s first failed presidential run.

“He was regarded as having one of the most admired houses in the Hamptons. Bill and Hillary Clinton were frequent guests. They would regularly stay there,’’ one of the Post’s sources said.

This fact, coupled with the strange timing and lack of a suicide note, has led to an explosion of conspiracy theories alleging that the Clintons, particularly Hillary, are somehow responsible for Lee’s death.

Look:

The conspiracy theories are based on the fact that so many friends and associates of the Clintons have committed suicide in recent years.

In fact, just days before Lee’s death, the police report from another high-profile suicide — that of Mark Middleton, who used to serve as an aide to then-President  Bill Clinton — was finally released.

Middleton was found dead at a ranch in Arkansas in May of 2022 with a gunshot wound to his chest and an extension cord reportedly tying his neck to a tree. The police ruled his death a suicide, but at least one friend thinks he was murdered.

“He was murdered! At this point, it’s not just a murder. It’s an Arkansas state coverup! There is no way he killed himself,” the associate told Radar Online this week.
