Dilbert” cartoonist Scott Adams has been dropped by USA Today as the media outlet joins the perpetually offended after he made comments Wednesday on his podcast that went viral about black people and racism in connection to a Rasmussen poll.
“At @Gannett, we lead with inclusion and strive to maintain a respectful and equitable environment for the diverse communities we serve nationwide,” a statement from the company that publishes USA Today contended.
“The USA Today Network will no longer publish the ‘Dilbert’ comic due to recent discriminatory comments by its creator,” it charged.
Adams trended on Twitter after he commented that the results of a Rasmussen poll that showed 47% of black respondents were not willing to say it’s okay to be white convinced him that African-Americans are a “hate group.” He said he was also convinced by videos of black people beating white people that whites should not help black people or live in communities with a large percentage of black people.

The comic strip creator’s premise was that if a large group of people doesn’t like you, why should you be around them? That enraged leftists all over the place.
“That’s a hate group and I don’t want to have anything to do with them,” Adams declared while citing the poll. “And I would say, based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from black people.”
“Just get the f*** away,” Adams advised. “Wherever you have to go, just get away. Because there’s no fixing this. This can’t be fixed, right? This can’t be fixed. You just have to escape.”
A lot of people are angry at me today but I haven't yet heard anyone disagree. I make two main points:
1. Treat everyone as an individual (no discrimination).
2. Avoid any group that doesn't respect you.

Adams said that he had moved to an area where there was a “very low black population.” He also remarked that he was going to stop helping black America because it doesn’t seem to pay off.
“It helps no sense to help black Americans if you’re white,” he surmised.
It was hard to tell in the original video if Adams was serious or tongue-in-cheek on the issue. and many thought probably a little of both. Adams appeared to claim that he wasn’t serious about his comments when interacting with those on social media.

He responded to being called a racist in another video posted on Friday.
“I’m trending on Twitter. Was it something I said?” Adams tweeted. “Come watch me get canceled.”

The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper has also announced it will no longer run “Dilbert” either.
The Plain Dealer, which was founded in 1842, said “it was not a difficult decision” to cut the cartoon from its pages. And it said all Advance Media newsrooms, which include SiLive.com and NJ.com, will follow its lead.
The Plain Dealer said it expected people like Adams to call their divorce from “Dilbert” an act of “cancel culture.” It will probably also affect their bottom line.
“This is a decision based on the principles of this news organization and the community we serve,” the paper said, justifying the move. “We are not a home for those who espouse racism. We certainly do not want to provide them with financial support.”
