Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) kicked off President’s Day by explosively calling for Republican states to secede from the union, asserting that we need a “national divorce” between red and blue states because of “woke” culture and that we must shrink the federal government.
“We need a national divorce,” Greene tweeted. “We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done,”
The proposal comes as President Biden made a “surprise” visit to Ukraine where he took what looked to be a staged stroll with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as sirens blared for effect. The Biden administration gave Ukraine notice of the visit just hours before the president arrived. Greene was disgusted by that event as well.
“This is incredibly insulting. Today on our President’s Day, Joe Biden, the President of the United States chose Ukraine over America, while forcing the American people to pay for Ukraine’s government and war. I can not express how much Americans hate Joe Biden,” Greene proclaimed on Twitter.
We need a national divorce.

The Georgia congresswoman didn’t stop there in excoriating Biden over his actions on President’s Day and she didn’t hold back against Zelenskyy either.
“President’s Day 2023. Zelenskyy can’t even wear a tie as he greets the President of the United States. He gladly takes our money in sweat shirts and t-shirts, but Biden is dressed up. So insulting. America Last!!!” she proclaimed.

“Biden didn’t go to East Palestine, Ohio on President’s Day. He went to Ukraine, a NON-NATO nation, whose leader is an actor and is apparently now commanding our United States military to world war. We must impeach this America Last fool before it’s too late,” Greene demanded.

Greene has not hidden her antipathy toward Biden. As he falsely claimed during the State of the Union that Republicans wanted to cut Social Security and Medicaid, Greene stood and shouted that he was a liar.

The call for secession by Greene was met with mixed responses:
Just causally calling for the end of the Union on a Monday morning.

Stronger states, weaker federal government was the original design. It’s better because you can move to states with laws you agree with. Can’t move from the federal part.

It’s a fair point.

I have said this for years. A good divorce beats a bad marriage any day of the week. Any major issue or election in this country is almost a 50/50 spilt. It’s time for us to go out separate ways.

Regardless of where you sit politically, this is the best option for all sides. 330 million people weren’t meant to be ruled by a few hundred oligarchs in Washington.

I am sick of the Far left liberal party, we have to do something about them. I don’t want to separate America, but I’m tired of living like this as well. Something’s gotta be done.

We tried that once. It didn’t end well.
I don’t like Biden or frankly almost any democrat policies but saying we need a “National divorce” is not the way we handle things in the USA. We debate, we elect leaders and vote for different leaders if we don’t like the current ones.
