Chelsea Handler’s skit celebrating childlessness gets cold reception: ‘Just another day of not being funny’

“The Daily Show” guest host Chelsea Handler evidently thought doing a skit on being childless and making fun of parents would be hilarious but instead, it pretty much came off as sad and pathetic, going viral on social media for all the wrong, embarrassing reasons.

The 47-year-old comedian made a video that boasted about the bliss her life is without the burden of children in an effort to make the strained point that she is enjoying doing “whatever the f*** I feel like” and reveling in it.

Many did not find the video, titled “Day In the Life of A Childless Woman,” funny in the least and it went viral as a testament to how lonely and devoid of happiness Handler’s life seems to be.

The segment begins with Handler going into graphic detail about her self-absorbed, sexually explicit morning ritual that she is free to take part in because she doesn’t have to take kids to school or worry about being interrupted while she hedonistically pleasures herself.

“I wake up at 6 AM. I remember that I have no kids to take to school, so I take an edible, masturbate, and go back to sleep,” she depressingly quipped.

Then she really gets into her empty existence by stating that she gets up at 12:30 p.m. to “get ready for a busy day of doing whatever the f*** I feel like.”

“I put on my most impractical and stylish shoes since I won’t be chasing a child around the grocery store,” she crows.

Then she delusionally imagines traveling to her “fave spot in Paris to grab a croissant,” and comments that she is free to meditate on the flight because “I have no screaming kids.”

Handler, evidently still high on edibles, starts to fantasize about how she can teleport home from Paris and then go out and get laid by “whatever hot guy” she met on a dating app that night.

Showing that she is all class, she mimics texting her paramour, asking, “Wanna f*** tonight?”

The washed-up comic then dives off the deep end of reality, claiming she has time to build a time machine so she can go back and “kill baby Hitler.”

“It’s amazing what you can do when you have this much free time,” she snarked.

Instead of laughs, the skit got pity and derision from just about everyone.

Conservative pundit Allie Beth Stuckey didn’t hold back, “Sorry, Chelsea Handler, you can make your life seem awesome and kids seem awful, but I promise no 30-year-old mom of toddlers wishes they were 50 and single just so they could smoke pot in a hot tub.”

Conservative commentator Elijah Schaffer nailed the essence of Handler’s existence nicely, “It’s supposed to be funny but it feels more like a cope. So sad when a woman doesn’t have children to call her own. Lonely life.”

Health and wellness expert Gina Bontempo noted that “If she had a baby when she was 30 years old, Chelsea Handler would have this same ‘freedom’ today bc her child would’ve been grown up. Then instead of dying alone, she would have someone care for her in her old age—and the priceless lifelong reward & fulfillment of being a mom.”

“Single feminists like Chelsea Handler attempt to make fun of women who are happy in their marriages with beautiful children to try make themselves feel better. Enjoy your wine nights and your hookups with men you’ll never see again. I’m more than happy with my husband and kids.,” Pro-life activist Abby Johnson tweeted.

Twitter user Jared Monroe told Handler she summarized the black hole of her existence, “If you want to live a meaningless life void of courage and joy, that’s your right. But stop selling it to kids and young adults as if you’re happy with your life choices. You’re not. And most of us know it.”

The best take on this nonsense comes from Seattle radio host Jason Rantz who shredded Handler, “Just another day of not being funny.”

And then there is what conservative talk show host Jesse Kelly had to say on Tucker Carlson’s show, “Soon, it’s Valentine’s Day and your womb resembles a dried-up tumbleweed blowing down an old western town and your Valentine’s Day date for the 10th year in a row is a copy of Magic Mike and a half-full bottle of Xanax.”
