A North California baker, anarchist, and mask zealot who believed in “social justice,” “restorative justice,” and other “woke” concepts is now dead thanks to the actions of one of the many street hoodlums whom she’d spent her life advocating on behalf of.
Victim Jennifer Angel, the owner of Oakland’s Angel Cakes bakery, was in a Wells Fargo parking lot around 12:30 pm Monday afternoon “when a vehicle blocked her exit,” according to CBS News.
“A man approached her vehicle, broke a window, reached inside to snatch her purse and then raced back to a getaway car. She followed the suspect back to the car, attempting to retrieve her purse. Angel became caught in the fleeing vehicle’s door and was dragged more than 50 feet before falling off,” CBS reported Friday.
The dragging left her with serious head wounds. She died three days later.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Oakland baker, small business owner, social justice activist and community member Jen Angel has been medically declared to have lost all brain function and will not regain consciousness. Her official time of death was 5:48pm (PT),” her family announced Thursday.
According to journalist Andy Ngo, Angel was a hardcore leftist and anarchist who believed in abolishing the criminal justice system:
A radical leftist baker in Oakland who believes in the abolishment of the law has tragically died after being dragged to death by robbers. Jennifer Angel, who ran Angel Cakes, was an anarchist activist. Her GoFundMe says they hope her killers (believed to be black) aren’t jailed. pic.twitter.com/ocMqBa6wBu

Jennifer Angel has a long history of far-left organizing in the Bay Area of California. She was trying to proselytize the belief that nation-states, the rule of law, police, etc. should be abolished in favor of an anarchist utopia. Yet despite being against law and order, she was reportedly a mask zealot. Go figure.
While her death is sad, regardless, some critics say her family’s response to it is even sadder.
According to local station KGO, her family is seeking so-called “restorative justice” for the still-uncaught criminal responsible for her death.
“We are really trying to orient towards her brilliant life, and that actually, she is not a person who would support the policing and imprisonment of the people who harmed her,” one of her close personal friends, Emily Harris, explained to the station.
“[It] feels like absolutely an opportunity to stand in her values, and support the world that she wants. By actually showing that something different than actual policing and prosecution is possible, and is how we can have accountability,” she added.
But it gets so much worse. Her family has put up a GoFundMe, and the GoFundMe is littered with “woke” leftist nonsense.
“If the Oakland Police Department does make an arrest in this case, the family is committed to pursuing all available alternatives to traditional prosecution, such as restorative justice. Jen’s family and close friends ask that the media respect this request and carry forward the story of her life with celebration and clarity about the world she aimed to build,” it reads.
“Jen’s family and friends ask that stories referencing Jen’s life do not use her legacy of care and community to further inflame narratives of fear, hatred, and vengeance, nor to advance putting public resources into policing, incarceration, or other state violence that perpetuates the cycles of violence that resulted in this tragedy,” it adds.
Jen Angel’s death is so wrenching, and this statement that her close ones put out is so beautiful and so appropriate, so fitting for who Jen was and what she believed in so completely.https://t.co/oglcTSnOZ6

Evidently, her family’s idea of “justice” is giving murderers — even the one who basically killed their loved one — a break. But in fairness, this is the sick ideology that Angel had herself subscribed to.
That being said, because of this, some have little sympathy for Angel and her family. These critics argue that the policies she supported, and that her family is now pushing, are leading to greater crime and thus more death and heartbreak.
So yes, it’s sad that Angel died. But how many more people are going to die thanks to this “restorative justice”? That’s the question on critics’ minds.
Look:
Died doing what she loved. Supporting criminals.

What fun. Anarchist utopia. People like this deserve what comes with their beliefs.

It’s probably the way she wanted to go, what she think would happen getting rid of law?

When ideology becomes more important than your family, it’s a pretty clear sign you’re in a cult.

Sorry, lady, but WE want the people arrested bc they might do it again. “But it might further the narrative of hate, etc”. Jfc

They would actually rather see the same thing happen to someone else then see criminals go to jail. Amazing
