Putting down white people – The new national sport

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

A racial inquisition aimed at whites is underway based on the erroneous notion that the number one threat to America is ingrained intolerance by white people. The Left, says author Ben Shapiro, wants to portray America as “an incurable mass of bigoted whites.” Under the guise of ending alleged racial oppression, an attempt is being made to remake whites into the new underclass.

Signs of the inquisition are popping up everywhere. Dr. Donald Moss, a psychoanalyst who teaches at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, calls “whiteness” a “malignant, parasitic-like condition to which white people have a particular susceptibility.” New York Times editorial board member Sarah Jeong tweeted “cancel white people,” “white men are bullshit,” and “dumbass f—ing white people.” Perfectly okay with the Times. “We have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet,” said an African-American professor at North Carolina State.

“If everyone knows that treating ethnic and racial minorities as stereotypes is disrespectful, mean-spirited and divisive,” wrote Esther Cepeda in the Washington Post, “why is it OK when it comes to whites?”

Government agencies have bought in. The City of Seattle inaugurated a training session for white city employees to “undo their whiteness” and affirm their “complicity in racism.” Can you imagine if Seattle required all black employees to undo their blackness? The US Treasury Department held a training session telling employees that “all white people contribute to racism.” Sandia National Labs—which produces our nuclear arsenal—held a three-day reeducation camp for white males, teaching them how to deconstruct their “white male culture” and forcing them to write letters of apology to women and people of color. “Virtually every significant corporation, academic institution, and public employer has these types of training,” says Peter Kirsanow of the US Commission on Civil Rights. “This is maybe the most pernicious ideology we’ve ever seen in the US.”

The New York Post reports that schools across the country are teaching white students as young as six that “they’re born racist and should feel guilty about benefiting from white privilege.” You wouldn’t think that argument would go very far but, thanks to white guilt, it has taken off like a ball of fire. Whites are being brainwashed to hate themselves and they are capitulating. I didn’t believe it until someone showed me a video of a large crowd of whites on their knees in Bethesda, Maryland, as they were led through a mass confession of their alleged racism. It reminded me of the Chinese Cultural Revolution where victims were forced to admit various crimes before a crowd of people who would verbally and physically abuse them.

Liberalsarenuts.com has bravely exposed the overt racial brainwashing in TV commercials and shows. “For TV,” they write, “white men as the majority of Americans have all but disappeared.” In a four-month log of TV commercials, “while the African American population in America is only 12% they were in 94.3% of the commercials. Black males are only 5% of our population yet were in 89.7% of the ads. White males who make up the largest segment of our population were in only 4% of the TV commercials! What distorted perception of reality does that serve? They truly do control our entire thought process and will distort our perception of reality, if we allow them to.”

The brainwashing is supported by our educational system. In today’s universities, says Scott Greer in No Campus for White Men, whites are morally inferior and blacks are superior because of their presumed history of oppression. Identity politics on campus, says Greer, is “increasingly bordering on outright hatred for white people.”

Under the false flags of “systemic racism” and “white supremacy,” the inquisition demands that all white people—no exceptions—confess their racism and take complete responsibility for the problems of the black community. White people must make amends in the form of wealth and power redistribution. Author David Horowitz is appalled by this blatant assault on the majority of Americans. “The fact that white people are better off is not a privilege,” he says. “It’s earned.” White men founded our republic, white men ended slavery, and white men are largely responsible for the day-to-day commerce that puts food on the table and clothing on our backs. America runs because of white people and their value system. Like it or not, white people drive the engine that makes this country work.

More and more people have figured out that the old excuses for black crime and violence—jobs, poverty, schooling, etc.—are no longer valid. “Now they have a new excuse,” says Colin Flaherty in Don’t Make the Black Kids Angry. “The ultimate excuse: White racism is everywhere. White racism is permanent. White racism explains everything. That is the biggest lie of our generation. Because just the opposite is true. Black crime and violence against whites, gays, women, seniors, young people and lots of others is astronomically out of proportion.”

The inquisition against whites has been repudiated by respected black figures such as Thomas Sowell, Shelby Steele, Bob Woodson, Candace Owens, and Larry Elder. “The oppression of black Americans is over with,” author Shelby Steele explained on Fox News’ Life, Liberty and Levin. “It is likely,” Steele said, “that today’s racial disparities are due more to dysfunctions within the black community.”

The assumption of Black Lives Matter is that blacks can claim a monopoly as objects of bigotry. Try telling that to Hispanics, Jews, Irish, Italians, Asians and other groups that have been on the receiving end of discrimination and intolerance. Individual instances of racism are occurring and always will occur—against both blacks and whites—but to suggest that white racism is institutionalized is to deny the colossal changes that have occurred since the Civil Rights Movement that took place more than 50 years ago. The truth of the matter is, blacks have never been less oppressed than they are today,” said Shelby Steele. “If you are black and you want to be a poet, or a doctor, or a corporate executive, or a movie star, there will surely be barriers to overcome, but white racism will be among the least of them. You will be far more likely to receive racial preferences than to suffer racial discrimination.”

As a defense against the anti-white inquisition, I have become an advocate for white people. When I defend white Americans, I am not referring to “white supremacy.” I am applauding the achievements of white people and their excellent value system: respect for the individual, freedom of speech, the rule of law, meritocracy, the work ethic, equality of opportunity, the importance of education.

White America has been mostly passive about the blitz of anti-white rhetoric—perhaps because of white guilt, perhaps because of fear of violent reprisals, perhaps because so many people are uninformed. No one wants to be called “racist.” At the same time, “more whites have begun talking about themselves as a racially oppressed majority,” reports CNN. “In a widely publicized survey, white Americans said they suffer from racial discrimination more than blacks.” It is time to declare that white people are victimized by racism and ought to be designated as a special class. Someone should explain to “people of color” that white is a color too.
