Kamala Harris savaged in NYT hit piece that includes Hillary Clinton’s opinion of her

The New York Times came out with a hit piece on Monday that was the bleakest one yet for Vice President Kamala Harris, where many Democrat officials say they have lost faith in her leadership and even Hillary Clinton slammed her “political instincts.”

“Two Democrats recalled private conversations in which former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lamented that Ms. Harris could not win because she does not have the political instincts to clear a primary field,” the New York Times asserted.

The leftist media outlet did go on to say that Clinton claims to have a strong bond with Harris and was very supportive of her. Clinton seems to be giving off mixed signals, saying one thing in private and another in public concerning the vice president.

Harris’ allies were quick to defend her but the piece was extremely damaging to Harris. It appears that Democrats are disillusioned with Harris and having Clinton doubt her political gravitas is one more nail in her coffin. They are questioning if she is fit for office and whether she could lead the party moving forward.

“Members of Congress, Democratic strategists, and other major party figures all said she [Harris] had not made herself into a formidable leader,” the New York Times reported.

“Even some Democrats whom her own advisers referred reporters to for supportive quotes confided privately that they had lost hope in her,” the article stated.

According to the media outlet, “dozens of Democrats in the White House, on Capitol Hill and around the nation — including some who helped put her on the party’s 2020 ticket — said she had not risen to the challenge of proving herself as a future leader of the party, much less the country.”

“I can’t think of one thing she’s done except stay out of the way and stand beside him at certain ceremonies,” John Morgan, a prominent fund-raiser for Democrats, told the New York Times concerning Harris and Biden.

“There’s no shortage of people willing to throw shade anonymously and seemingly no shortage of publications willing to write it up and recycle beltway gossip,” Kirsten Allen, Harris’ press secretary, stated in response to the article, according to The Hill.

“Those still questioning the VP’s role and impact are choosing not to see what is right in front of them,” she contended.

Democratic National Committee chairman Jaime Harrison defended Harris on Monday.

“I am proud of our Vice President, and my friend, @KamalaHarris. She has worked tirelessly to deliver for the American people in the Senate, across the country, & overseas,” he tweeted. “She is always there when we need her!”

There have been numerous hit pieces coming out against Harris and she appears to be rallying the troops to protect her reputation.

With President Biden potentially running for a second term at the age of 82, Democrats are viewing Harris as a possible liability for his campaign. She’s even less popular than he is, according to FiveThirtyEight with an approval rating below 40 percent.

“Now with Mr. Biden appearing all but certain to run again, the concern over Ms. Harris has shifted to whether she will be a political liability for the ticket,” the New York Times authors wrote. “Given that Mr. Biden at 80 is already the oldest president in American history, Republicans would most likely make Ms. Harris, who is 58, a prime attack line, arguing that a vote for Mr. Biden may in fact be a vote to put her in the Oval Office.”
