On Tuesday night, President Joe Biden will deliver the annual State of the Union address before Congress and a national television audience where he will pat himself on the back and gaslight the American people about the monumental successes of his administration. But there are many things that the deeply unpopular leader will likely leave out of his big speech.
Since last year’s SOTU when Biden proclaimed that “We are stronger today than we were a year ago,” and vowed that “we will be stronger a year from now than we are today,” the nation has lurched from crisis to crisis with illegal immigration out of control, the worst inflation in four decades, record high gas prices that have at least temporarily subsided, ongoing supply chain issues including a baby formula shortage, war in Ukraine and plummeting faith in a federal government that is no longer responsive to the needs of many of its citizens, none of which are likely to get much attention when the POTUS speaks.
The address comes at a time when Biden is beset by scandal over his improper handling of classified documents and days after his peculiar decision to allow a Chinese surveillance balloon to traverse half of the U.S. before shooting it down after it may have already transferred the data it collected back to Beijing, both subjects that are also unlikely to receive mention.
Biden has been laying the groundwork for the SOTU with days of Twitter missives boasting about the alleged positive effects of his policies, especially when it comes to jobs.

While the speech will provide Biden with an opportunity to make his case for a second White House term, with many believing that an announcement that he will run for reelection in 2024 is imminent, the gaslighter-in-chief will almost certainly lean into the lies that have marked his five decades in government, several of which are predicted by economist and Heritage Foundation senior fellow Stephen Moore in an op-ed column for the New York Post.
Biden has NOT reduced the budget deficit by $1.4 trillion and when it comes to “fiscal recklessness” no president in modern history can match Biden.
“The deficit shot into the fiscal stratosphere of $2.8 trillion in his first year in office, and in 2022 it was still at one of history’s highest levels, $1.4 trillion. Last year, our debt as a share of our gross domestic product hit an all-time high of 129%. Biden is like a schoolkid celebrating an improved report card because the first semester he got an F but the second semester a D-,” Moore wrote.
The author also pointed out that Biden likes to claim that the economy was a wreck when he took office as a result of the COVID pandemic but by the time of his inauguration, it was already on the upswing.
“When COVID hit these shores in early 2020, the economy was shut down in the face of the once-in-a-half-century pandemic. But by 2020’s second half, the economy soared by more than 20%, and millions of Americans were moving back into their jobs. This was a historic recovery,” that took place under the leadership of former President Donald J. Trump, Moore noted.
Biden will also likely repeat the big lie that inflation was raging out of control BEFORE he took office, and Moore issued the following preliminary fact check: “The average inflation rate during the Trump presidency was 2%, and in January 2021, the month Biden entered office, inflation was 1.4%. Eighteen months later, in summer 2022, inflation rose above 9% — the highest in 40 years. It ended the year at 6.5%. Food prices are still so high that CNBC just reported: ‘Amid food inflation, more shoppers turn to dollar stores for groceries.’”
As for the president’s claims that he is responsible for a decline in gas prices since last summer’s record highs as he repeatedly tapped the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve for political reasons, Moore noted, “When President Donald Trump left office, the gas price was $2.59 a gallon nationally. In June 2022, it was nearly double, a modern-day high of $5.004 a gallon. Today gas is $3.48 a gallon — roughly $1 a gallon higher than when Biden entered office. And according to Gas Buddy, which provides real-time prices and projections, gas at the pump is expected to rise back to $4 a gallon this year.”
Moore also described Biden’s assertions that the border is under control as the “whopper of them all,” as illegal immigrants continue to pour into the country and that the idea that Biden – who declared war on the domestic fossil fuel industry on day one – is increasing domestic oil production is laughable.
He advises that when Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders delivers the GOP rebuttal to Biden’s spewing of malarkey that she should simply say, “Liar, liar, pants on fire.”
The truth is that Biden’s disastrous stewardship of the nation has many in his own party looking for a change at the top, something that ABC’s Jon Karl put Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on the spot over on Sunday morning as the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana made the rounds on the political talk shows.
After confronting the overmatched bureaucrat with the results of an ABC News/Washington Post poll showing that a whopping 58 percent of Democrats want to see the party move on from Biden with only 31 percent in favor of a second term, Karl asked “Do you want him to run again?”
“That’s out of my lane and above my paygrade at the same time,” Buttigieg said, not answering the question directly.

“He is an absolutely historically successful president.” Buttigieg said, adding, “I’m incredibly proud to be part of this team that he has built and to be part of the results that he is delivering. The biggest infrastructure package since Eisenhower. The most significant economic achievement package since since FDR. All, by the way, while having the most the slimmest congressional majority of any new Democratic president in about 100 years. And again, we’re just two years in. So what he’s achieved is extraordinary.”
“One thing this president has done again and again and again, whether it’s politically or whether it’s policy wise, is defy expectations,” Mayor Pete said as he laid it on thickly. “And it’s one of many reasons why I’m humbled and honored to be part of this team.”
Biden’s speech comes at a time of intense partisan rancor that he himself has continued to stoke with his demagogic attacks on tens of millions of Republicans who didn’t vote for him.
“If President Biden is looking for an opportunity to alter a mostly static approval rating, the State of the Union, is his next best chance,” said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion.
“Biden needs to flip public sentiment about the strength of the union and find middle ground to offset many Americans who view the political parties as extreme,” Miringoff told Fox News Digital.
