‘The grift that keeps on grifting’: Fauci charging up to $100K for speaking engagements

Conservatives dragged Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday after it was discovered that he’s going to be charging a stunning $50,000 to $100,000 for speaking engagements now that he’s retired as Biden’s medical adviser and as a director at NIAID.

The first to reportedly uncover Fauci’s new gig was Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ rapid response director, Christina Pushaw who tweeted a screenshot from the website of a leading motivational speaker’s agency that lists Fauci as a “motivational” and “health care” keynote speaker with an exorbitant price tag.

Fauci is fawningly described on the site as someone whose “career warrants execution under immense pressure that can alter the course of human existence. His work on domestic as well as global health issues has saved millions of lives. This high level of research, discovery, and execution is amazing given the grave challenges he faces on a daily basis,” according to Fox News.

The audacity of this man,” Latina conservative influencer Jennifer Barreto-Leyva bluntly tweeted.

Others piled on, accusing Fauci of grifting and severely inflating his self-worth while taking credit for handling the pandemic which saw millions die. He was at the top of the heap pushing the COVID jab which allegedly has adverse effects and Senator Rand Paul has vowed to hold him accountable whether he’s still employed by the federal government or not.

“Follow The Science Starting at 50k an hour,” Substack writer Jordan Schachtel scathingly noted.

“Gotta replace the 400K federal salary…,” NewsBusters’ Tim Graham snarked.

“The grift that keeps on grifting,” Kingsley Cortes, who is a conservative influencer and was a Trump 2020 campaign staffer, astutely pointed out.

Bitcoin and finance expert Saifedean Ammous roasted Fauci over his speaking fee, “Motivational? WTF is he motivating them to do? Triple mask? Gain of function?”

User Stuart Slesh quipped, “Answers that ancient philosophical question, ‘What does it cost to be lied to?’”

Fauci will give the commencement speech this year at Yale Medical School, according to Fox News. He reportedly delivered keynote speeches at commencement ceremonies for the University of Maryland, Roger Williams University in Rhode Island, and The City College of New York last year.

The epidemiologist was at one time the highest-paid government employee out there, making more than the president did according to a Freedom of Information Act request. Fauci made $417,608 in 2019. In the previous two years, he made $384,625. From 2010 to 2019, Fauci pulled in $3.7 million from his federal employer, according to OpenTheBooks.

Fauci’s wife, Christine Grady is the chief bioethicist at the National Institutes of Health and made $238,970 in 2021, up from 234,284. Since 2015, Grady made roughly $1.6 million in cash compensation.

In 2019, Fauci and his wife had their net worth rise from $7.5 million to $12.6 million by the end of 2021, according to OpenTheBooks. It’s being purported that the increase in wealth came from investment gains, awards, compensation, and royalties.
