Hunter Biden’s attorneys have opened up a new aggressive front against accusations from Fox News over his infamous laptop and his purported rental of his father’s Delaware home, demanding retractions and an apology from the network or risk a defamation lawsuit.
His lawyers want corrections to coverage of the laptop that was abandoned at a Delaware computer repair shop which Biden failed to retrieve in 2019. They also sent out a slew of letters, which included criminal referrals and cease-and-desist missives aimed at critics and detractors such as Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani. The new legal tack for the president’s son comes just as House Republicans prepare their own investigations into his activities.
John Paul Mac Isaac, who owned the shop where the laptop was dropped off, eventually went through the contents of the computer and made copies of the hard drive. It reportedly contained salacious material having to do with Hunter Biden’s business dealings, drug usage, and sexcapades. Mac Isaac sent a copy to Giuliani who took the contents public.
Ted Goodman, who is a spokesman for Giuliani called the letters an “obvious attempt” to silence the former mayor, according to Bloomberg. “Raising concerns now, after so many years, indicates just how devastating the texts and videos from Hunter’s laptop truly are.”
This is what Biden's lawyer—Abbe Lowell—failed to tell the Department of Justice and the Delaware Attorney General.
Hunter legally abandoned the laptop, and it became the property of John Paul Mac Isaac. Read the last paragraph.

“Abbe Lowell, a recently hired lawyer whom Biden enlisted about a month ago, sent lengthy letters to the Justice Department and Delaware’s attorney general requesting investigations into several key players who were involved in disseminating data from a laptop that Biden is said to have dropped off at a repair shop in Wilmington, Del.,” The Washington Post reported.
“Bryan M. Sullivan, another lawyer now representing Biden, sent a separate communication to [Tucker] Carlson and Fox News demanding that they correct falsehoods from his recent show or risk a possible defamation lawsuit,” the media outlet continued.
“And in another letter, Lowell wrote to the Internal Revenue Service challenging the nonprofit status of Marco Polo, a group that is run by conservative activist Garrett M. Ziegler. Lowell provided 36 pages as evidence that the group is engaging in political activity in violation of its nonprofit status,” the Washington Post recounted.
Lowell charged that Marco Polo is “little more than a thinly disguised political operation to attack the Biden administration and the Biden family.”
Ziegler, a former Trump administration aide, told CBS News in a statement that the “letter to the IRS about Marco Polo is full of speculations and basic misunderstandings about the case law surrounding 501(c)(3) organizations.” He stated that it was a “desperate attempt by “Hunter and his family to get the attention off of their crimes.”
Hunter Biden appears to have decided to fight back against allegations against him, despite overwhelming proof that most of them are accurate and all but assuring that he will be even more exposed in the media.
“This marks a new approach by Hunter Biden and his team. He is not going to sit quietly by as questionable characters continue to violate his rights and media organizations peddling in lies try to defame him,” an unnamed source told the Washington Post.
So I guess it is ok for the media to now say Hunter's laptop is real. Here's what his attorney wrote per CNN:
“This failed dirty political trick directly resulted in the exposure, exploitation, and manipulation of Mr. Biden’s private and personal information. 1/2

Considering the evidence against Hunter Biden, the legal posturing may turn out to be nothing more than bluster but it is a certainty that Fox News will have its own attorneys prepping to respond in force.
Biden’s legal team is alleging that Fox News defamed him when host Tucker Carlson claimed Biden funneled $50,000 to his father, President Biden, for the rental of his Delaware home. They contend in actuality Hunter Biden was paying $49,910 for office space in Washington, DC every three months.
“We demand that you immediately retract these statements by spending a significant amount of air-time on such retraction,” Sullivan stated in the letter to Fox News and Carlson. “If we do not receive this written confirmation, we will assume that you both are not interested in acting responsibly and professionally and willing to reverse its actual malice reporting,”
According to the Washington Post, Hunter Biden is demanding apologies from other Fox News commentators, including Sean Hannity.

Hunter Biden’s attorney also sent a criminal referral to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York concerning Mac Isaac.
“Backing up Mr. Biden’s files for any repair did not require Mr. Mac Isaac to review the contents of any such files,” Biden’s attorney wrote. “Mr. Biden did not consent to Mr. Mac Isaac gaining access to the content of those files in April 2019 or at any other time.”
Since the laptop was officially abandoned, that argument may not stand the smell test in court.
Brian Della Rocca, an attorney for John Paul Mac Isaac told CBS News in an interview, “Having not seen the letters until now, I haven’t had much of an opportunity to review them. After skimming the letters, the only thing I see is a privileged person hiring yet another high-priced attorney to redirect attention away from his own unlawful actions.”
