Dems fume after reported snub from Elon Musk during DC visit: He should ‘come in and explain himself’

Whether intending to or not, billionaire Elon Musk has demonstrated a superb talent when it comes to triggering leftists and after a quick stop in Washington, D.C. to meet with leaders from the House majority regarding upcoming hearings, whining Democrats suggested he “come in and explain himself.”

The fact that Musk visited the Capitol last week is no surprise. In fact, the entrepreneur presented the trip as a bipartisan engagement when he tweeted Thursday that he spent time with both House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) “Just met with @SpeakerMcCarthy & @RepJeffries to discuss ensuring that this platform is fair to both parties.”

Democrats hardly saw it that the same way according to a report from Politico that noted the encounter with Jeffries was by happenstance and there were no planned meetings but for the ones with Republicans.

“Elon Musk’s unannounced, whirlwind tour of Capitol Hill last week had a number of high-profile stops: A happy birthday visit to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and a sit-down with GOP firebrand Rep. Jim Jordan, among others,” the outlet stated. “He even met with White House officials to talk electric cars. One thing it didn’t include: Congressional Democrats.”

The leftist view of Musk has been akin to their collective view on freedom itself which ultimately means little to none, with the elites holding all the power. Since the billionaire has endeavored to buck that system and expose efforts of collusion through means such as the “Twitter Files,” he has taken nothing but flack from Democrats.

Reacting to the partisan Capitol trip, Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) told Politico, “I think it’s seriously a mistake and I think it would be a good thing to have him come in and explain himself.”

She wasn’t alone in grumbling about being left out of talks as Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), himself wrapped up in evidence from the “Twitter Files” that showed the government working hand-in-hand with Big Tech to censor speech leveled an attack against Musk and his business, said “I am deeply concerned with how he’s running that company into the ground. It seems like a vanity project that is going wrong with an explosion of hate speech on that platform.”

Of course, Schiff has a personal axe to grind with the entrepreneur after being the victim of one of Musk’s pithy barbs. In December, the California lawmaker attempted to slight Musk by tweeting, “Elon Musk calls himself a free speech absolutist, to justify turning a blind eye to hatred and bigotry on Twitter. But when journalists report unfavorable news, they are banned without warning. The devotion to free speech is apparently not that absolute. But the hypocrisy is.”

In response, Musk wrote, “Thankfully, you lose your chairmanship very soon. Your brain is too small.”

It remains unknown if the billionaire was showing favoritism to Republicans by meeting with the controlling party, but what is known is he has voiced his preference in voting for them since choosing former Rep. Mayra Flores (R-Texas) in a June 2022 special election before also stating his favor of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) for president.
