Matt Gaetz introduces PENCIL Act bill restricting Adam Schiff’s access to classified docs

California Rep. Adam Schiff has discovered that times have changed now that Republicans control the House of Representatives and measures have quickly been put into place to prevent the abusive conduct that marked his tenure as one of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s top henchmen.

Having already been booted off of the powerful House Intelligence Committee by Pelosi’s replacement Speaker Kevin McCarthy, his colleague from across the aisle Rep. Matt Gaetz has moved to restrict his access to classified information in a preemptive move to erect guardrails against Schiff’s leaking to the media.

On Thursday, the Florida lawmaker introduced a resolution that would bar the scheming liar, conspiracy monger, and Sunday morning political talk show fixture from accessing the highly sensitive information, with the PENCIL Act (Preventing Extreme Negligence with Classified Information Licenses Resolution) which he states is necessary to prevent Schiff from further eroding American confidence in the intelligence community by weaponizing lies and propaganda.

“Congressman Adam Schiff led the effort for years to weaponize lies from the Clinton campaign and a corrupt Department of Justice to smear President Trump while destroying any trust the country had left in America’s intelligence agencies. Speaker McCarthy kept his promise to remove Rep. Schiff from the Intelligence Committee, and with the PENCIL Resolution, we will express the sense of Congress that he should be barred from accessing any classified information at all. He can no longer be trusted by his colleagues in Congress or the American people,” Gaetz said in a statement.

“I’ll be introducing legislation not only to see that Adam Schiff is removed from the Intel Committee but to express the Sense of Congress that he should have no access to classified information at all,” the Florida firebrand said on Twitter. “I’d rather give @RepSantosNY03 access to classified information than Schiff!”

The acronym of PENCIL is of particular significance with “pencil neck” being the nickname that Schiff was fondly given by former President Donald J. Trump, it was first introduced by Gaetz in 2019 when Pelosi ruled the House with an iron fist.

Schiff,  who just announced his bid for the Senate seat expected to be vacated by 89-year-old Dianne Feinstein, is undergoing a tough adjustment period to his new life as an increasingly insignificant member in the new GOP-controlled House, and Gaetz’s beautiful bit of trolling only adds to his misery.

Gaetz discussed his resolution with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday night’s edition of “Hannity” where he made it clear that it is no longer business as usual in the House.

Twitter users reacted to the PENCIL Act with much amusement over how the tables have now been turned on Schiff who is seen by many as one of the most loathsome Democrats in Congress.

Also being ousted from their committees by McCarthy were Schiff’s fellow Californian Rep. Eric Swalwell who famously canoodled with a female communist Chinese spy nicknamed “Fang Fang” and Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, an ethically challenged Somali-born bomb-thrower with a strong anti-Semitic streak and who may or may not have married her brother.

What comes around goes around.
