Adam Schiff comes for Dianne Feinstein’s Senate seat fresh off Intel Committee rejection

Fresh from being booted off the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) has announced his bid to take the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who, as the oldest member of Congress at 89 years old, has yet to confirm whether she will run for a sixth term or step aside.

“Our democracy is at great risk,” Schiff tweeted on Thursday. “Because GOP leaders care more about power than anything else. And because our economy isn’t working for millions of hard working Americans.”

“We’re in the fight of our lives—a fight I’m ready to lead as California’s next U.S. Senator,” he declared.

“I’ve always believed that what’s right matters, that the truth matters, and that decency matters,” Schiff states in his first campaign commercial before launching into more of his “Orange Man Bad” mantra.

Schiff may “believe” truth matters, but that doesn’t mean he tells it.

Just 10 days ago, his fellow Californian, Republican Speaker Kevin McCarthy stated, “Adam Schiff openly and repeatedly lied to the American public.”

“He told you he had proof,” McCarthy said of former President Donald Trump’s alleged — and debunked — collusion with Russia. “He told you he didn’t know the whistleblower. He put America for four years through an impeachment that he knew was a lie.”

On Wednesday, McCarthy made it official, kicking both Schiff and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) of “Fang Fang” fame off the House Intelligence Committee.

“It is my assessment that the misuse of this panel during the 116th and 117th Congresses severely undermined its primary national security and oversight missions — ultimately leaving our nation less safe,” he wrote in a letter to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Schiff ran to China’s favorite social media platform, TikTok, to lick his wounds, and the next thing you know, he’s a candidate for Senator.

@adamschiffBREAKING NEWS: Kevin McCarthy just kicked me off the House Intelligence Committee. And here’s why: I fought him and Donald Trump when they tried to tear down our democracy. If he thinks this will stop me, he will soon find out differently. Here’s the kicker: This political retribution from Kevin McCarthy is only going to make me fight harder. Stand with me against Kevin McCarthy at the link in my bio.♬ original sound – adamschiffca

As for Senator Feinstein, Schiff claimed on Fox 11 Los Angeles that he had her “blessing” to run.

Schiff isn’t the only one eyeing Feinstein’s seat.

As American Wire News reported, the “notoriously nasty” Democratic Rep. Katie Porter (Calif.) announced earlier this month that she wants to replace the aging Senator.

“California needs a warrior in the Senate—to stand up to special interests, fight the dangerous imbalance in our economy, and hold so-called leaders like Mitch McConnell accountable for rigging our democracy,” she tweeted on Jan. 10.

If reports about Porter are true, some poor staffer is going to have their head handed to them for the glaring typo in her first campaign ad. “I don’t do Conress the way others do,” the captions read.

Good to know.

If successful, Porter could give Vice President Kamala Harris a run for her money when it comes to abusing employees.

According to a message from one alleged staffer, it’s “Widely known across the party/consultants that Katie Porter is abusive. Unable to cope with basic demands of being a member so she takes it out staff. Says rude/racist things (anti-black esp) and tries to mask it as edgy humor. Thinks she knows better and talks sh*t about other members, leadership, staffers, local electeds, etc at full volume, in public and to literally any1 who will listen.”

Meanwhile, Twitter users are making their thoughts about Schiff’s announcement known.

“You are a liar and a disgrace,” one user told the would-be Senator. “It will be a great day when you no longer serve this Great Nation.”

“Adam Schiff went on everything from TV to TikTok crying about being (rightfully) removed from the House Intelligence Committee and the next day goes and announces his candidacy for US Senate?” asked another user. “This is the political equivalent of taking your ball and running away.”
