Journo tells KJP ‘you don’t seem a good fit for this job’ to her face during presser

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has her hands full dealing with the fallout over four tranches of classified information being discovered at President Joe Biden’s former office and personal residence, frequently referring reporters to the White House Counsel’s Office over the most basic of questions.

The frustration came to a head at Tuesday’s press briefing when Cameroonian journalist Simon Ateba, the White House correspondent for Today News Africa, questioned whether Jean-Pierre was “fit” for her job.

“Karine, since you don’t have any answer on the classified documents, you don’t seem a good fit for this job,” Ateba said. “We do not seem to have any answer from you.”

Jean-Pierre, who was eager to move on to another reporter, and Ateba have clashed previously, with the African reporter accusing her of discrimination for never calling on him for questions.

As for his assessment of Biden’s diversity hire, Ateba found a kindred spirit in Fox News contributor Joe Concha, who said in an appearance on Fox News last week that Jean-Pierre’s handling of the classified document controversy shows that she is “not qualified” for her role.

“Karine Jean-Pierre has shown that she is not qualified for this job at this level,” Concha said. “We’ve seen that now over the last couple of months, because she keeps saying over and over again — as if she’s almost programmed, like she has no ability to think extemporaneously — that the president ‘takes these documents very seriously.’”

“In one press conference, she’s literally said that line 17 times. And at the same time, she talks about how transparent the administration has been with the public – while not answering questions. You’re telling me there isn’t one person that took a log of who was going in and out to see the sitting president of the United States? I have a very hard time believing that,” he added.

Similarly, in an exchange Tuesday with Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy, Jean-Pierre refused to answer five consecutive questions, referring him to the White House counsel’s office on four separate occasions:
