‘Amazing!’ Americans send a big message when NHL’s Ivan Provorov doesn’t cave to woke mob

NHL player Ivan Provorov’s refusal to wear a Pride Night jersey may have the radical left in an uproar but normal Americans have a whole different take on the player’s stance.

At least, that’s the indication one might get when learning that the Philadelphia Flyers player’s jersey is pretty much sold out.

Earlier this week, Provorov opted to quietly sit out pregame warmups featuring players wearing team jerseys with a rainbow color flag through the numbers.

The NHL’s slogan declares, “Hockey is for Everyone,” with the league stating that it seeks to use its global influence and the game of hockey “to drive positive social change and foster more inclusive communities.” On that end, the Flyers hosted Pride Night on Tuesday.

Confronted about his decision after the game by liberal sports reporters, Provorov said, “I respect everybody, and I respect everybody’s choices, My choice is to stay true to myself and to my religion. That’s all I’m going to say.”

The cult-like reaction to this respectful stance included one analyst calling on Provorov to be sent back to his homeland of Russia to fight in the war against Ukraine.

At the same time, there was a groundswell of support for Provorov for staying true to his religion — support reflected in the sudden popularity of his jersey.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
