Israel torches UN envoy for thanking Hezbollah: ‘How does it feel to be indoctrinated by a terrorist?’

A U.N. official is being torched online by Israeli officials after she thanked a representative for Hezbollah — a terrorist organization, according to the State Department — for giving her a “tour d’horizon on issues of priority for #Lebanon.”

Joanna Wronecka is the United Nation’s special coordinator for Lebanon.

On Monday, she took to Twitter to show her appreciation to Ammar Moussawi, head of international relations for Hezbollah.

“I thank Mr. Ammar Moussawi of Hizbullah (sic) for a tour d’horizon on issues of priority for #Lebanon, including the election of a new President, the functioning of state institutions and the impact of regional and international developments on the country,” she wrote.

Israel has long considered Hezbollah to be a major threat.

Writing in December for the Jerusalem Post, Neville Teller said the terrorist group is “as big a threat to Israel as Iran’s nuclear program.”

“Recently, Hezbollah operatives have been increasingly active on the Lebanon-Israel border. They have set up dozens of lookout posts, increased their patrols, and openly monitor and document Israeli troop movements,” he explained. “Also, Hezbollah’s use of Iran-supplied drones has increased over the last few months. In the summer, drones were dispatched to film Israel’s offshore gas rig prior to the Israel-Lebanese maritime agreement. They were destroyed by the IDF.”

So when Moussawi tweeted her thanks to the terrorists, Israeli officials were quick to clap back.

“Is this real..??” asked Joshua Zarka, head of strategic affairs in Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “An official Senior UN Representative thanks the terrorist organization responsible for the murder of a UN peace keeper for ‘a tour d’horizon’!!!”

“Have (sic) the world gone completely mad?!” he exclaimed.

“So how does it feel to be indoctrinated by a terrorist?” asked Yaki Lopez, head of public diplomacy at Israel’s embassy in Berlin. “Care to share with us?”

“Wow @JWronecka this is the upside down world in which we live where ethics and morality no longer matter and even terror organizations have a say in international diplomacy,” stated the founding chairman & CEO of The Abraham Global Peace Initiative, Avi Abraham Benlolo.

“How shameful of the @UN coordinator,” he added. “Embarrassing.”

Former Israeli DPR to the United Nations, David Roet, was “blown away” by the shocking tweet.

“Even after spending 4 years at @UN I’m still blown away by this tweet,” he wrote. “It’s ‘Special Coordinator to Lebanon’, thanks a representative of #Hizbollah, one of the world’s most dangerous terror organisation, for a ‘tour d’horizon’ in the country they took hostage.”

“‘Special’ indeed,” he added.

The former ambassador to India and Sri Lanka, Daniel Carmon — who is now back in Israel — offered some smart advice to the misguided official.

“The only tour d’horizon you could take with #Hezbollah is on the #Terror trail,” he stated. “You don’t wanna be there. Too dangerous.”

And they weren’t the only ones made furious by Wronecka’s tweet.

Plenty of other people joined in to express their anger.

“Please thank him on behalf of us Lebanese also for the amonium nitrate his party was storing illegally at the Beirut port that led to the third largest explosion in human history and the death of 240 people and thousands of injuries,” tweeted one user.

“Since you are very polite,” replied another, “did you thank him for killing a UN peacekeeper as well?”

And a third called the tweet a milestone: “You have now joined the ranks of such notorious traitors as Jane Fonda and [NBC’s] Joe Scarborough.”
