Incoming Oversight chair stresses that committee is investigating Joe Biden NOT Hunter Biden

As Democrats and their corporate media allies have been gearing up for the inevitable defense of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter during the new Congress, incoming House Oversight Committee chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) made one point abundantly clear, Sunday, “We’re not investigating Hunter Biden. We’re investigating Joe Biden.”

Republicans are officially in charge of the House of Representatives, have elected a speaker and are set to proceed with promised investigations this week. As such, NBC’s Chuck Todd framed the inevitable efforts as partisan when Comer joined him on “Meet the Press” Sunday morning.

“It looks more partisan than professional,” he said before asking how, if at all, Comer looked to negate those perceptions, prompting the congressman to fire back, “I think the only people that see this as a partisan investigation are the media and the hardcore Democrats.”

“Look, at the same moment that the Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee released Donald Trump’s taxes they then, moments later, turned around and said that Comer’s investigation of the Biden family influence peddling is a revenger,” the Kentucky lawmaker proceeded.

Going on to cite a Harvard poll that said 65 percent of Americans believe the contents of the laptop from hell should be investigated, the Comer expressed, “Let me be clear. We’re not investigating Hunter Biden. We’re investigating Joe Biden.”

The Oversight Committee leader went on to frame his position by calling out Democratic complaints over former President Donald Trump having family like his son-in-law Jared Kushner working in his administration and explained, “I think any American who has kept up with the political process over the past two administrations would agree, we need to know what is allowable and what isn’t allowable with respect to foreign adversarial intervention among family members of presidents of the United States.”

“That’s something that the Democrats complained about with Kushner and certainly the Republicans, myself included, have complained about with Hunter Biden and Jim Biden, the president’s son and brother,” he went on.

As previously reported, with the promise of investigations before them, leftists had assembled “war rooms” working directly and indirectly with the administration designed to counter whatever findings might come out backed, as NBC News themselves had reported, by “multimillion-dollar dark money budges and some of the best-known operatives in the Democratic Party.”

Eric Schultz, a White House spokesperson for former President Barack Obama had explained, “There are a lot of constraints on the administration when responding to oversight investigations–even ones that are completely bogus–but none of which apply to outside groups.”

Todd seemed to represent the basest efforts of this campaign of propaganda as he endeavored to employ whataboutism which Comer readily swatted down stating, “[Rep.] Adam Schiff always overpromised and underdelivered. He said just last week releasing Trump’s tax returns was gonna be a bombshell. There’s no bombshell there. There’s nothing there.”

The congressman added further credence to the legitimacy of Republican investigations, and the need for the Democratic machine to try harder, as he continued, “With respect to what we’re doing, everything that…we’ve requested, we have evidence to back up. There are emails and text messages that show Hunter Biden complaining about having to spend so much money keeping his dad up. I mean, that’s a concern because Hunter Biden’s only source of income were from our adversaries in China and Russia for influence peddling.”

Ultimately, Comer seemed to suggest that if the investigation exonerated the president of wrongdoing with regard to possible involvement in what appeared to be pay-to-play schemes that threaten national security, the party would proceed to the next matter of pressing concern.

“We wanna know, was the president truthful when he said he didn’t have any knowledge or involvement of his families shady business dealings and once we determine that,” he said, “we’ll move on.”
