Fauci mimics ‘creepy’ shrine to The Science™ with images of himself plastering home office walls

Many have likened the zealotry to draconian COVID mandates as something of a cult and, as Dr. Anthony Fauci stepped down from his decades-long position in government, a New York Times profile may have revealed who the number one acolyte was as the outlet highlighted his “creepy” shrine to The Science™.

The 118th Congress begins on Tuesday accompanied by Republican control of the House and promised investigations into concerning matters like the long-ignored origins of COVID. Preempting this shift in legislative control, Fauci retired as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and had his last day in office Saturday before beginning to collect his obscene annual pension of more than $400,000.

Evidently, the wealth and fawning praise from corporate media were far from enough to satisfy the narcissism of Fauci perhaps best captured by the walls of his home office covered with images of himself.

As Jerry Dunleavy of The Washington Examiner flatly posted, “The very first sentence of this NYT profile: ‘The walls in Dr. Anthony S. Fauci’s home office are adorned with portraits of him, drawn and painted by some of his many fans.”

Composed by the Times’ Washington correspondent covering health policy, Sheryl Gay Stolberg, the piece went on to describe, “Dr. Fauci seemed a little uncomfortable with people knowing about the pictures.”

“He said that previously, when they were captured on camera, the ‘far right’ attacked him as an ‘egomaniac.’ If someone goes to the trouble of sending him a portrait of himself, he said, he would ‘feel like I’m disrespecting them’ if he discarded it,” Stolberg wrote.

Billionaire Elon Musk, who recently pointed out his acquired social media platform Twitter had a “Fauci Fan Club” channel on the internal messaging service Slack and has alluded to a reckoning on the NIAID director’s collusion with Big Tech to control the narrative around COVID initially reacted to the story by simply saying, “creepy” before joking, “Maybe he just loves looking at science?”

Fauci had infamously remarked during a 2021 interview that statements of fact regarding the mismanagement of COVID and criticism of the politically convenient interpretations of data to enforce desired policies were attacking science, and by that he meant himself.

“A lot of what you’re seeing as attacks on me, quite frankly, are attacks on science, because all of the things that I have spoken about, consistently from the very beginning, have been fundamentally based on science,” he argued. “Sometimes those things were inconvenient truths for people, and there was pushback against me. So if you are trying to, you know, get at me as a public health official and a scientist, you are really attacking not only Anthony Fauci, you are attacking science.”

The now-retired director’s self-adoration was also pointed out by columnist Phil Kerpen who reminded that Fauci’s office at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with glad-handing photographs, framed awards and bobbleheads was equally egocentric.

A documentary about Fauci released in 2021 also featured the doctor’s love of looking at himself while working as, above his desk, a large oil painting portrait was within view.

The Times article did not stray from this as Stolberg went on to feature Fauci’s plans for a memoir where he spoke of himself in third person.

“What I would like to do is make it a real memoir, which is a life story of which Covid is a part. Because if you look at what Tony Fauci was and is, Tony Fauci is not defined by Covid,” he explained. “I would much rather give a story of the whole me, from the time I grew up in the streets of Brooklyn to where I am right now. But I don’t know. I’ve never written a book before.”

Other reactions were equally critical of the former public official who many contend should be facing a criminal trial.
