CNN’s Oliver Darcy beclowns himself to defend FBI, claims Elon Musk is ‘misleading the public’

One of the primary characteristics of the modern incarnation of the American left is a reverence for the FBI and other big government intelligence agencies, a complete turnabout from the old days when traditional liberals viewed such institutions with extreme suspicion and the biggest defenders of authoritarian state power are people with jobs in the media, particularly those who are drawing paychecks from CNN like Oliver Darcy.

The acquisition of Twitter by billionaire Elon Musk has created a major disruption in the Force with the world’s wealthiest man not only cleaning house at the San Francisco-based tech giant but also releasing smoking gun proof of how deeply in bed that prior management was with the FBI. And the revelations now being published on the platform by selected journalists have shed sunlight on the true nature of the “public-private” partnership when it comes to censorship.

Following a recent installment of the “Twitter Files” highlighting how the Bureau worked hand-in-hand with Twitter to suppress the New York Post bombshell report on Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” including paying millions of dollars to the company for its assistance, CNN’s chief media nebbish once again beclowned himself by penning an “analysis” in which he accused Musk of “misleading the public — again,” after the “Chief Twit” promoted the work of reporter Michael Shellenberger who dished the damning details on the feds’ influence at the social media company.

In donning his cape for the FBI, Darcy wrote, “The embattled billionaire, perhaps seeking to distract from the chaos he has wrought at his social media company, is making grossly misleading claims about Twitter and the FBI. And those claims are being blindly amplified to millions by Fox News and the rest of the powerful right-wing media machine which seems to have no interest in the pesky truth and instead has repeatedly shown they’ll contort stories to fit preconceived and erroneous narratives.”

He added, “the money Twitter collected had nothing to do with censoring anyone. The money was simply given as reimbursement for the processing of legal requests, similar to how a journalist might have to pay a fee for a government agency processing a Freedom of Information Act request,” citing Facebook’s former chief security officer who claimed that the FBI’s payments to Twitter had “absolutely nothing to do with content moderation.”

Musk also posed a serious question to CNN regular Rep. Adam Schiff, the shifty, conspiratorial, truth-challenged head of the powerful House Intelligence Committee that may have served as additional motivation for Darcy’s laughable screed.

“As (outgoing) Chair of House Intelligence, did you approve hidden state censorship in direct violation of the Constitution of the United States @RepAdamSchiff?” Musk asked shortly after his boost of Shellenberger’s explosive reporting.

“Similar to Donald Trump, Musk and right-wing media continue to take relatively mundane procedures, such as a company receiving reimbursement for processing legal requests, and put them in the worst possible light, portraying them as nefarious,” wrote Darcy. “Unfortunately, given the large audience they’re convincing, the tactic seems to be working.”

Darcy also joined the ranks of those whining that Musk didn’t immediately step down after his Twitter poll putting the question to users on whether he should continue his hands-on management of the platform.

The regime’s media stooges are big-time mad at Musk now that they have lost control over Twitter and their ability to shape the narrative by bullying and censoring any dissenting voices that are critical of the corrupt establishment.
