Troubling new study shows America has become a ‘nation of moochers’ under Biden, Fox host says

The pursuit of the American dream which has long been a traditional value has been replaced by apathy, indolence and sloth during the Biden era as the administration’s socialistic policies have been instrumental in creating “a nation of moochers” according to Fox Radio’s Jimmy Failla who blasted the new normal by citing the results of a stunning new study.

On Thursday, the host of “Fox Across America” joined the crew on “The Five” as they discussed the new study by the nonprofit Committee to Unleash Prosperity finding that a family of four could receive $80,000 in annualized unemployment benefits and Obamacare subsidies in 14 states with those choosing to suckle off of the government dole instead of working doing even better in three other states, Washington, Massachusetts, and New Jersey where the amount rises to $100,000.

“It’s a sad truth, but America has become a nation of moochers who’d rather sit around in mom’s basement, eat Funyuns, and hoover up Biden’s generous welfare payouts,” Failla said.

“According to a new study, unemployment benefits and Obamacare subsidies outpace the median income in several states, meaning those folks are making more dough than your average firefighter or truck driver for doing nothing,” he continued. “And the free ride gets better in three states, those benefits come out to over $100,000.”

“Making matters worse, nearly half of Americans aged 18-29 are living with their parents,” he added. “This is embarrassing,” referring to a recent New York Post report that younger people are leeching off of mom and dad and using what would have been rent money for luxury items.

“When we were young there was some shame living at home in your late twenties,” Failla said to panelist Will Cain, “I’m one of those guys who moved out really young, like 28,” he joked, “But honestly, do you think we need to bring back shame a little bit because I feel like we’ve collectively as a society lowered the bar?”

“If shame will do the trick, bring back shame,” Cain answered. “Because this is highly, highly concerning. At a deep cultural level.”

In the Committee to Unleash Prosperity study, the authors write, “A key policy question these days that has befuddled federal lawmakers is why so many millions of Americans have not returned to the workplace in the post-Covid era. The U.S. is ‘missing’ more than three million workers of working age that could be working and were working prior to Covid but are not today. There are many factors that could help explain this disappearance of workers from the work force, including continuing fears of Covid, early retirement, ‘long Covid,’ the decision by many not to ever return to work and instead retire early, among others. But this study shows that one factor contributing to the dearth of workers is the generous benefits paid to families without workers.”

“In 14 states, a family of four with two unemployed workers can receive unemployment insurance benefits and ACA subsidies equivalent to a job that pays $80,000 a year in wages and health benefits –or more. In another 10 states, a family can receive the equivalent of a $70,000-a-year job. For these families, work may literally not pay,” the study found.

Failla later added, “I just think what it comes back to is self reliance and I feel like we’ve eroded that from a lot of today’s population…”
