Clueless Gov Newsom bemoans migrant burden after dangling social programs, ‘universal healthcare’

After funding multiple social programs to benefit illegal immigrants, California Governor Gavin Newsom had the audacity to complain that the Golden State is now overwhelmed by border jumpers and, according to him, it’s about to get a lot worse.

The proudly progressive Newsom took a trip to the state’s border with Mexico and told ABC News that when Title 42 — a policy implemented by former President Donald Trump that requires asylum seekers to stay in Mexico while their case is being reviewed — is lifted, California’s current system of coping with the influx of migrants will “break.”

“The fact is what we’ve got right now is not working, and it’s about to break in a post-42 world unless we take some responsibility and ownership,” Newsom said.

“And I’m saying that as a Democrat,” he continued. “I’m not saying that to point fingers, I’m saying that as a father, I’m saying that as someone that feels responsible for being part of the solution and I’m trying to do my best here.”

The nearly-recalled governor blamed the Biden administration for sending busses and planes full of migrants to his state because he does so much good work for the immigrant community, such as providing them with free healthcare at the expense of Californians who already have to struggle with soaring inflation and the highest gas prices in the nation.

“The more we do, the burden is placed disproportionate[ly] on us,” Newsom stated, adding that he’s managed to spend about all he can of the state’s money.

“We can’t continue to fund all of these sites because of the budgetary pressures now being placed on this state and the offsetting issues that I have to address,” he explained without a hint of irony or self-awareness. “The reality is, unless we’re doing what we’re doing, people will end up on the streets.”

“These people are going to fall through the cracks,” he warned. “Young kids are going to be out there sleeping in the sidewalks.”

Apparently, Newsom hasn’t noticed the thousands of Californians who are already living on the streets and have been doing so for some time.

While he ignored the tents popping up along California’s city streets, Newsom did find time to advocate for the right of illegal immigrants in the state to receive universal health care.

“Here in the largest state in our union, in the state of California, we are positioned with this budget to be able to deliver on what we’ve been promoting: universal health care for all, regardless of pre-existing condition, regardless of the ability to pay, and regardless of your immigration status,” he said in January, according to The Blaze.

In September, Newsom signed into law legislation that allows illegal migrants to receive state identification, and in 2020, “Newsom partnered with immigrant groups to raise over $125 million for a coronavirus relief fund for illegal immigrants,” The Blaze reports.

Naturally, the migrant crisis in California isn’t Newsom’s fault — at least not in Newsom’s perpetually inflated head.

It’s the Republicans’ fault, obviously.

“It’s an immigration system that has to be performed, and yet there’s no discussion of it in Congress because the Republican Congress wants nothing to do with it,” he stated.

And now, California’s shelters are filled to the brink — an outcome Ray Charles could have seen coming from a mile away.

Interestingly, Newsom, who craves attention like vultures crave a good road kill, didn’t inform the California press of his visit to the border, instead opting for the national media.

According to political analyst Steve Swatt, that was another strategic move by Newsom to paint himself as the anti-DeSantis.

“He is trying to raise his profile on a national level, and he would like nothing better than to be the firebrand on the left for Democrats who is willing to take on Governors [Ron] DeSantis and [Greg] Abbott on the immigration issue because it’s so important to California, in a different way than perhaps it’s important to [Florida and Texas,” Swatt told ABC10.

Online, Twitter users can’t believe Newsom’s gall.

“California is being overrun by illegal immigrants?” they ask. “You don’t say.”

Stated one astute Twitter user, “The headline could have read: Newson illustrates the art of the Self Own.”
