‘DeSantis declares war’: FL creates board to ‘assess’ CDC guidance, calls for grand jury probe of vaccines

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis set the lockdown-loving left on its heels Tuesday when he petitioned for a grand jury investigation of “crimes and wrongdoing committed against Floridians related to the COVID-19 vaccine” AND effectively circumvented the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in creating a state board to “assess” federal health recommendations and guidance.

“In Florida, you know, it is against the law to mislead and misrepresent when you talk about the efficacy of the drug,” DeSantis said. “So today, I am announcing a petition with the Supreme Court of Florida to impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate any and all wrongdoing in Florida with respect to COVID-19 vaccines.”

Joined by Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, the Republican governor held a roundtable with physicians, researchers and victims “of adverse events from mRNA vaccines,” announcing “aggressive actions to hold the federal government and Big Pharma accountable.” He also announced the creation of the Public Health Integrity Committee, which the governor’s office said “will be overseen by the Surgeon General to assess federal public health recommendations and guidance to ensure that Florida’s public health policies are tailored for Florida’s communities and priorities.”

“Our CDC, at this point, anything they put out, you just assume, at this point, that it’s not worth the paper that it’s printed on. It’s not serving a useful function. It’s really serving to advance narratives,” DeSantis said at the roundtable, his distrust of the largely politicized CDC on full display.

A Newsweek headline blared, “DeSantis Declares War on CDC Over COVID-19 Vaccines.”

“We’ve seen over the past few years, really, the bankruptcy of the public health establishment,” DeSantis said, before citing the stance public health officials took to promote racial justice protests.

“We’ve seen a lot of ridiculous partisanship. I mean I’ll never forget that after hectoring people in April of 2020 – you can’t leave your house,” he explained. “They were all upset at Florida because people were on the beach and playing golf and all this stuff — that if you left your house, you were almost like a bad person until you started to have George Floyd protests.”

After recalling that massive numbers of people turned out to protest, the governor said, “These public health people wrote a letter, where like hundreds maybe thousands of them signed, saying ‘yes we don’t think you should be leaving your house normally, but we endorse the protests.'”

“If that doesn’t just go to show this is all just a huge political farce, I don’t know what it is,” he added. “…I think you’ve continued to see people in these bureaucracies and in this establishment behave in ways that have totally squandered any type of confidence or goodwill that people would have.”

The governor’s office blasted the Biden administration in a release for its role while detailing some of the potential side effects of the vaccine.

“The Biden Administration and pharmaceutical corporations continue to push widespread distribution of mRNA vaccines on the public, including children as young as 6 months old, through relentless propaganda while ignoring real-life adverse events,” the release said. “At today’s roundtable the Governor and health experts discussed data covering serious adverse events. These risks include coagulation disorders, acute cardiac injuries, Bell’s palsy, encephalitis, appendicitis, and shingles.”

“Health care professionals should always communicate the risks of a medical intervention to their patients in a manner that is clinically appropriate and meets standards of ethical practice. President Biden and Big Pharma have completely prevented that from happening – it is wrong,” Dr. Ladapo said. “With these new actions, we will shed light on the forces that have obscured truthful communication about the COVID-19 vaccines.

After noting that the pharmaceutical industry and the FDA “have refused to release patient-level data for independent researchers,” the release said, “the COVID-19 vaccines produced by Pfizer and Moderna have received FDA approval for pediatric and adult patients and continue to be marketed as safe and effective, even though the vaccines do not prevent transmission and adverse events have been minimized and disregarded by the Biden Administration and Big Pharma.”
