Taylor Greene on Jan. 6: If Bannon and I organized that, we would have won … and it would have been armed’

With a flair for the dramatic, U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has once again fed the outrage machine on the left — which includes much of the media — who seem to have forgotten that the United States of America was founded in revolution, a cabal that must shake in their boots over Thomas Jefferson declaring “the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

Greene was speaking at the New York Young Republican Club in New York City over the weekend and would comment on the Jan. 6, 2021 protest at the U.S. Capitol, mentioning the frothing in the media about some Republican lawmakers allegedly giving the insurrectionists reconnaissance tours of the Capitol the day before the protest.

Here is a clip of some of her remarks shared online by New York Post reporter Zach Williams:

“Then Jan. 6 happened,” the GOP lawmaker from Georgia said. “And next thing you know, I organized the whole thing, along with Steve Bannon. I will tell you something, if Steve Bannon and I organized that, we would have won. Not to mention, it would’ve been armed.”

“See that’s the whole joke, isn’t it,” she added. “They say that whole thing was planned and I’m like, are you kidding me? A bunch of conservatives, Second Amendment supporters went in the Capitol without guns, and they think that we organized that?”

Greene was exuding confidence in her own abilities and reflecting her strong support for the Second Amendment — Democrats continue to claim that it was an “armed insurrection,” although the only person who died by gunfire that day was unarmed Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, who was shot and killed by a U.S. Capitol police officer.

But she’s also mocking the claim by Democrats that Jan. 6 was an “insurrection,” in the sense that she was suggesting that IF she had organized an overthrow of the government that it would have been a successful endeavor. Of course, outside of the left’s political narrative, rational folks understand that a protest that got out of hand was not a planned insurrection.

Yet, the pearl-clutching media fretted over the Republican politician’s “incendiary remarks,” which include a reference to the “communist agenda” of President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party — “communist” may be a stretch, but there can be no denying of the neo-Marxist influences at play in this administration.

Gavin Wax, president of the New York Young Republicans Club, also had the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center in an uproar when he declared that Republicans “want total war” against Democrats — in effect, calling for adopting the same tactics employed by the opposition.

“We want to cross the Rubicon. We want total war,” Wax said. “We must be prepared to do battle in every arena. In the media. In the courtroom. At the ballot box. And in the streets.”
