‘Gosh, Alex, you sound nervous’: Alexander Vindman fixated on Elon Musk, compares him to Goebbels

Retired Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman may not be the first person to compare billionaire Elon Musk to a Nazi and he likely won’t be the last, but in his never ending quest for relevancy, he may very well have been the most pathetic Saturday.

Known primarily for being a lead witness during the first impeachment of then-President Donald Trump as it pertained to the “perfect” phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Vindman has proven himself time and again to be just another pawn for the Democratic machine. The most recent example came when, amidst a flurry of tweets and with no intended irony, he not only declared the social media platform to be dying, but he likened its owner to chief Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

“[Twitter] is dying. That’s okay,” he began in a typo-laden post. “If anything it needs to be killed off soonest. [Elon Musk] cannot be allowed to promoted dangerous radical views… hate speech. Imagine Geobbles [sic] with a bigger platform and wider reach.”

Prior to and following the take, Vindman had come to the defense of outgoing National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony “The Science™” Fauci whom Musk had alluded early Saturday would likely be a feature of a future edition of the “Twitter Files.”

“I’d put Fauci’s reputation up against this fool [Elon Musk] any time,” Vindman wrote before suggesting people seek out alternative social media platforms and saying “[Twitter] is dead.”

While he impotently offered up a hashtag “endmuskytwitter” similar stalwart defenses of him were not so readily apparent as users instead tore into him on multiple fronts.

Within minutes of Vindman’s post, Washington Examiner’s Jerry Dunleavy opened the floodgates on him by posting, “We have reached the Elon-Musk-is-worse-than-the-Nazis-ackshually stage of the discourse,” and then, “This worse-than-the-Nazis claim is in response to the release of some internal Twitter documents on censorship and in response to Elon tweeting out what are essentially standard Boomer Republican political takes.”

Warning: Language

Podcaster Noam Blum who had pegged Vindman in November as an account participating in a spam attack against Musk for behaving as a bot tweeting out a message about the billionaire’s ownership of Twitter being “way too much power for one erratic individual to wield,” concluded that the retired service members behavior may have been purely out of spite.

“Did you just compare him to Goebbels because he made fun of you?” Blum asked.

As it happened, Musk had reacted to Vindman’s participation in the spamming specifically and wrote, “Vindman is both puppet & puppeteer. Question is who pulls his string … ?”

This led some to suggest that maybe Vindman has a reason to be nervous as he too might soon appear in an installment of the “Twitter Files.”

Others saw fit to call him out for his claim about the platform dying when he himself continued to use it so regularly.
