Trump goes off on ‘totally one-sided transaction’ Biden made with Russia

Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Thursday to rip the prisoner swap that freed WNBA player Brittney Griner.

The controversial trade, which sparked an outcry with the release of “Merchant of Death” Viktor Bout, was panned by Trump.

“What kind of a deal is it to swap Brittney Griner, a basketball player who openly hates our Country, for the man known as “The Merchant of Death,” who is one of the biggest arms dealers anywhere in the World, and responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and horrific injuries,” Trump wrote. “Why wasn’t former Marine Paul Whelan included in this totally one-sided transaction? He would have been let out for the asking. What a ‘stupid’ and unpatriotic embarrassment for the USA!!!”

Griner was arrested in February after officials discovered cannabis vape cartridges in her luggage as she entered Russia for a basketball game. She was eventually convicted and moved to a penal colony before Biden secured her release. However, many people have been concerned that Bout, who was in the middle of serving a 25-year sentence, is too powerful a criminal to be released so easily.
