Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson returns to Hawaiian 7-Eleven to ‘right’ a decades-old wrong

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently posted an Instagram video where he details the sins of his youth and the quirky but kind way he made up for them.

“I finally exorcised this damn chocolate demon that’s been gnawing at me for decades,” he posted in the caption of the video. “We were evicted from Hawaii in ‘87 and after all these years – I finally got back home to right this wrong.”

Johnson explains that he used to steal a king-sized Snickers bar from his local 7-Eleven  convenience store every single day when he was 14 years old. It was his routine pre-workout snack, but unfortunately, his family was simply too poor to afford it. Now, at the age of 50, he has returned to the store to enact some justice by purchasing every Snickers bar in the place.

But he didn’t stop there. Anyone who happened to be inside the 7-Eleven at the time also had their items purchased for them by Johnson.

“We can’t change the past and some of the dumb stuff we may have done, but every once in a while we can add a little redeeming grace note to that situation — and maybe put a big smile on some stranger’s faces,” he wrote, reminding people that grace applies to everything they do, not just the big things.

At the end of the video, he ended up leaving the purchased Snickers bars with the store, advising the cashier, BK, to give them “to anyone who looks like they’re going to steal one.”

Oh, and for BK’s efforts in ringing up $298 in items, Johnson gave him a tip of his own.

Twitter users were not very impressed by the stunt:
