A McDonald’s delivery was made to order early Wednesday morning when expectant mother Alandria Worthy stopped to use a restroom on her way to an Atlanta-area hospital.
The baby’s father, Deandre Phillips, waited in an idling car but was soon summoned when things abruptly went sideways.
The manager on duty, Tunisia Woodward, walked into the bathroom and heard Worthy screaming that her water had broken. The bun was ready to come out of the oven.
At first, Woodward thought it was a joke until she found the woman lying on her back on the toilet.
According to the Daily Mail, Worthy, who moments prior was anticipating a long hospital saga, was now screaming frantically, “I’m in labor. Somebody get the man in the car.”
“I knew to tell my crew, ‘We’re having a baby today,’” Woodward told 11Alive.
While Woodward called 911, co-workers Sha’querria Kaigler and Keisha Blue-Murray were enlisted to help deliver the baby girl.

Phillips will likely tell this story for the rest of his life.
“The ladies at McDonald’s were at her front side, holding her hands, I had her feet propped up on my knees,” he said. “We told her to push three pushes.”
After that, he called out, “I see her head! I see her head!” and told her to keep pushing.
Three more pushes were all that was needed to bring a perfect, healthy baby, Nandi Ariyah Moremi Phillips, into the world.
“She popped out onto my hand,” said Phillips, who claimed that it was “divine intervention” that provided that restaurant and those three employees at that particular moment in time.
The parents said that the unexpected sequence of events was a “Thanksgiving blessing” and called the new addition to their family “Little Nugget.”
“A simple stop at your local McDonald’s can transpire into a memorable birth story on the eve of Thanksgiving break,” said a McDonald’s spokesperson.
The owner of the local burger outlet, Steve Akinboro, was proud of his employees, giving each of them a $250 gift card to help with their Thanksgiving dinner celebrations.
Upon receiving the gift from her boss, Woodward hoped to see the Phillips family in the years to come, saying that she plans to use the cash to spoil “Little Nugget.”
“We don’t just serve food, we strive to serve feel-good moments every day, and this was in fact the epitome of a feel-good moment for my team,” a beaming Akinboro said. “These three local Atlanta employees are a fantastic example of our crew making a difference for our customers and local communities.”
Safely in the hospital, the new parents reflected with amazement.
“I would have never thought that stopping at a McDonald’s to use the restroom would have turned into a full birth story,” said Worthy. “Life’s amazing right now, never would I ever thought I would deliver my own baby.”
