Media activists melt down, call for Apple and Google to cancel Twitter

New Twitter owner Elon Musk has done it again with his announcement that users banned for political reasons will be given amnesty on the platform starting next week, triggering another nuclear meltdown from activists and media elitists who absolutely detest anyone who doesn’t bow to their depraved ideology.

On Thanksgiving Day, a holiday that liberals hate with a purple passion, the world’s richest man welcomed those who have been banished from the digital town square, rubbing salt into the still-raw wounds of those who erupted in fury after he restored former President Donald J. Trump’s account last week.

Like with Trump, Musk’s amnesty to those whose viewpoints led to their being censored by the “woke” thought police came in a form of a poll presented to users, a welcome change, as well as a sorely needed introduction of democracy to Twitter, but his wasn’t the type of “democracy” that the authoritarian left loves to lecture people about.

“The people have spoken. Amnesty begins next week. Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” the new “Chief Twit” tweeted after the over 3 million respondents to his amnesty poll voted overwhelmingly for the bans to be rescinded.

Washington Post cry-bully columnist/stalker Taylor Lorenz, who is pushing the leftist efforts to pressure Google and Apple into removing Twitter from their respective app stores, whined to the BBC that Musk’s ideological fumigation of the San Francisco-based company was a “disaster” while claiming that he has gone to “insane lengths to silence people” since his $44 billion deal closed.

In her latest screed entitled, “‘Opening the gates of hell’: Musk says he will revive banned accounts,” the WaPo’s petulant problem child quoted Harvard University professor Alejandra Caraballo that “Apple and Google need to seriously start exploring booting Twitter off the app store.”

“What Musk is doing is existentially dangerous for various marginalized communities. It’s like opening the gates of hell in terms of the havoc it will cause. People who engaged in direct targeted harassment can come back and engage in doxing, targeted harassment, vicious bullying, calls for violence, celebration of violence. I can’t even begin to state how dangerous this will be,” the Ivy League cultural elitist said via Lorenz.

Also slamming Musk’s reversal of the decisions of the censorship regime – which he promptly fired shortly after he walked through the door – was CNN’s Oliver Darcy who seems to have survived the shakeup at the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” that has claimed several of his fellow employees.

“It sounds like Twitter is going to get a lot more chaotic next week, particularly after Elon Musk unlocks Twitter jail cells and lets all these people out. You’re right, these are people who — they didn’t break the law necessarily, those are the people that haven’t broken the law but who have violated platform policies, and those are policies governing things like spreading misinformation, the use of hate speech, and these people repeatedly broke those policies,” Darcy said.

Axios cited a number of anti-free speech activists in a hit piece about Musk’s amnesty, claiming that “the situation would get much worse if people like former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke were welcomed back following permanent bans for hate speech,” a straw man argument equating the notorious neo-Nazi with ordinary conservatives who were silenced simply because their thinking did not comport to the “woke” hive mind.

Another esteemed “expert” was also quoted by Lorenz in her post advocating for Apple and Google to cancel Twitter.

“Superspreaders of hate, abuse and harassment will be the only people to benefit from this latest decision by Twitter,” said Imran Ahmed of the Center for Countering Digital Hate, one of the organizations that began to pop up after Donald J. Trump’s shocking upset of Hillary Clinton ushered in a booming industry in censorship. “The choice for advertisers has never been starker: stick around and back Elon Musk, or protect their brands and ensure their marketing dollars aren’t used to enable the spread of hate, abuse and disinformation.”

Another prominent media organization, the Associated Press decried Musk’s latest move to level the ideological playing field, citing “online safety experts” to predict that the return of the previously banned voices will “spur a rise in harassment, hate speech and misinformation,” in a story that the Tesla/SpaceX CEO treated with the mockery that it was fully deserving considering the source.

“AP is such an expert in misinformation. Twitter couldn’t hope to compete!” Musk wrote in an epic smackdown of the outlet that nearly started WW III with its fake news about a Russian missile hitting NATO member Poland last week.

All the media noise about enabling “hate” speech is likely hogwash and the real reason why Lorenz and her ilk are furiously trying to destroy Twitter is that Musk’s managerial philosophy threatens to bring an end to their time as gatekeepers for the official establishment narratives.

“As Twitter pursues the goal of elevating citizen journalism, media elite will try everything to stop that from happening,” he tweeted earlier this month.

“Mainstream media will still thrive, but increased competition from citizens will cause them to be more accurate, as their oligopoly on information is disrupted,” he added.

The thoroughly corrupt mainstream media sees Elon Musk as an existential threat and for good reason.
