Trump blasts ‘PSYCHO’ Liz Cheney after Jan 6 staff reportedly turns on her for being on a revenge mission

Former President Donald Trump responded to a report that committee staff has turned on U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), the vice chair of the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, protest at the U.S. Capitol, to say that she seeks revenge against him.

According to reporting from The Washington Post, the staff members are frustrated with Cheney for focusing “almost entirely on Trump” in the committee’s unreleased final report.

Calling Cheney a “complete PSYCHO,” Trump shared a message on Truth Social saying that the outgoing Republican lawmaker blames him for her demise — he misspelled her name twice in the post.

“‘January 6 committee staffers are angry at Rep. Liz Chaney for focusing too much on Trump in final report.’ This is the headline in The Washington Post, and those that know Chaney are not surprised because she is a complete PSYCHO, has no regard for the truth as to what really happened, and is angry that the people of the Great State of Wyoming put her out to pasture in a record setting defeat,” he wrote. “She blames me for this, but she only has herself to blame. Pelosi loved watching ‘Liz’ go BONKERS!”

Citing fifteen former and current staffers who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the Washington Post said they had “expressed concerns that important findings unrelated to Trump will not become available to the American public.”

“Several committee staff members were floored earlier this month when they were told that a draft report would focus almost entirely on Trump and the work of the committee’s ‘Gold Team,’ excluding reams of other investigative work,” the newspaper reported. “Potentially left on the cutting room floor, or relegated to an appendix, were many revelations from the ‘Blue Team’ — the group that dug into the law enforcement and intelligence community’s failure to assess the looming threat and prepare for the well-forecast attack on the Capitol. The proposed report would also cut back on much of the work of the Green Team, which looked at financing for the Jan. 6 attack, and the Purple Team, which examined militia groups and extremism.

“We all came from prestigious jobs, dropping what we were doing because we were told this would be an important fact-finding investigation that would inform the public,” a former committee staffer said, according to WaPo. “But when [the committee] became a Cheney 2024 campaign, many of us became discouraged.”

Par for the course when it comes to Cheney, her spokesman Jeremy Adler placed his boss on a pedestal while defending her fixation on Trump and in the process, criticized the staffers for submitting “subpar material.”

“Some staff have submitted subpar material for the report that reflects long-held liberal biases about federal law enforcement, Republicans, and sociological issues outside the scope of the Select Committee’s work,” Adler told the Post. “She won’t sign onto any ‘narrative’ that suggests Republicans are inherently racist or smears men and women in law enforcement, or suggests every American who believes God has blessed America is a white supremacist.”
